April 4, 1951 - May 6, 2020
UTICA - Mr. Robert D. “Bob” Cittadino, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at the Abraham House in Rome with his loved ones by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Utica on April 4, 1951, Robert was the son of the late John F. and Caroline L. “Connie” (Mancuso) Cittadino. Raised and educated locally, he was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. A veteran of the United States Army, Bob proudly served his country with honor. On July 8, 1994 he married the former Michele A. Carrock with whom he shared a loving and devoted union of almost 26 years. During the 1980’s, Bob held a position at Bradlees Department Store and more recently, in 1997, he held employment at Price Chopper Grocery Store until 2019. Bob was a hardworking, self-taught man with a thirst for knowledge. He always offered a helping hand, was the first to crack a joke, and was great with children. He was an avid collector of Batman and James Bond memorabilia. He enjoyed writing, and some of his works have been featured in Ellery Queen's and Espionage Magazines. He loved movies and music of all types, reading, and taking walks. He was a parishioner of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church. Bob is survived by his wife, Michele; his son, John William Cittadino; and his sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara M. and John Cavoly, Bonnie and Donald Coiro, and Johann Tofolo. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Mary Locascio Carrock; in-laws, Gary and Sharon Carrock, Amy Carrock, and Renee and Paul DeFrank, his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and his friends, Gilbert and Deidre Trujillo. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, William Charles Carrock. The family sends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Abraham House in Rome for their care and compassion; and Dr. Merima Ramovic-Zobic for her professionalism. A Memorial Mass of Christian and Celebration of Life will be offered in Robert’s honor on Saturday, August 15th at 2:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish with Military Honors conferred by the US Army. Please take a moment to connect with Bob’s family through the “Memories” section of his obituary on our website. Our prayers go out to all as a sign of our continued support.
