Quentin J. Curry

January 30, 1990 - December 1, 2021

UTICA/ROME - Quentin Jamel Curry, age 31, entered into eternal rest when he passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Quentin was born in Utica on January 30, 1990, the son of Ricky and Delmarshia (Johnson) Curry. He attended T.R. Proctor High School. He was baptized at an early age at St. Paul’s Baptist Church where he was active in both the Junior and Senior Baptist Youth Fellowship groups, Junior and New Life choirs, and displayed his vocal and dramatic talents in numerous annual Easter pageants. Quentin was an avid sportsman and talented athlete who dominated the court while playing Dick Miller Basketball, and he remained passionate about sports throughout his life. Continuing in his love of music, Quentin was an extremely talented writer/rapper who also possessed a beautiful and powerful singing voice, so much so, that he influenced his younger brother Marques, to pursue his own musical path. Quentin was employed at the TLC Lighthouse. He also held a certification from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and had completed training in Asbestos removal. At the time of his passing, Quentin was the proud owner of The Palace VIP, LLC. Quentin was an awesome father that loved his children more than anything and took pride in providing for his family. He was a beautiful, loving, generous spirit, whose smile could melt your heart and would light up a room. He had a contagious laugh that brought joy to everyone; it could immediately draw you in and lift your mood. He would “literally give you the shirt off his back” just so you wouldn’t go without. He was a fierce protector always looking out for others. Quentin is survived by his parents, Ricky, and Delmarshia; his children, Xzavior, and Cairo Curry, and the anticipation of his unborn daughter whose name has been chosen to be Milan, as well as Xzion, London, and Kingston whom he loved as his own; his brothers, Ricky (Regina) Curry, of Buchanon, NY, Channing Curry of Canastota, NY, Marques (Brittany) Curry of Utica, NY, and Desmond Curry of Camden, NY; a niece, Chloe Curry, of Buchanon, NY; a nephew, Marcel Curry of Utica, NY; grandmother, Louise Cobb, of Columbia, AL; loving girlfriend, Princella Stovall; beloved mothers of his children, Danielle Collins, and Alexis Abrams, all who reside in Rome, NY; great-aunt, Annie Bell, of Utica, NY; aunts, Debra Perez, and Sherondia Morgan, both of Charlotte, NC; uncles, Robert (Marilynn) Bell, of Freeport, NY, Anthony Bell, Craig Jackson, and Mark Johnson, all of Utica, NY, Gregory Curry, of Dothan, AL, Donald Curry, of Columbia, AL, Randall Conway, of Charlotte, NC, and Brian Conway. Quentin had a close relationship with special cousins, Calvin Bell (who was a father figure in his life), Tracy Bowens (who presented her love and guidance in a motherly way), Simeon Bell (with whom he shared a brotherly relationship), Jasmaine Curry, and Teylor and Basia Bowens; special friends, Rick Hobbs, Bishop and First Lady Barbara Stovall who loved him as their own, and he was captured in the hearts of the Stovall family, Joey Wright, along with a huge host of family and friends. Quentin was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Bernice Bell and Chester Johnson; paternal grandfather, Isaiah Conway; uncle, Arthur Bell; and first cousins, Mia Curry, and Brittany Holliman. Visitation for Quentin’s family and friends will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at First Tabernacle Pentecostal Christian Center, 8086 Turin Rd., Rome, NY. Quentin’s Home Going Service and Celebration of Life will commence at 1:00 pm at the church immediately upon the conclusion of the visitation. All recommended CDC protocols will be implemented at the church. Masks are mandatory! Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
