Mr. Philip N. Jones Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

DEERFIELD – Mr. Philip N. Jones, age 93, passed peacefully on Sunday, December 26, 2021, with his loving family by his side. Philip was born in Cornucopia, WI, to the late Emory and Ann (Johnson) Jones. There he was raised and educated, going on to earn his Bachelor of Science degrees in physics, chemistry, and math at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Philip truly had a brilliant mind. After his academic endeavors, Philip served in the U.S. Army and rose to the rank of Corporal. Throughout his civilian career of 36 years Philip served as a Senior Optics Engineer for GE Aerospace. It was from this position that he retired. In 1951, Philip was first united in marriage to June “Eloise” Gustafson. The couple shared in a blessed union up until her passing. Philip was then fortunate to share in a second union. He was blessed to be wed to the former Joan Pucine Asselta in 1984. The pair enjoyed a loving and devoted marriage for 37 years. For fun, Philip loved partaking in a variety of hobbies, including riding his motorcycles and snowmobiles and hunting and fishing as well. Phil also loved cars and watching auto racing and could often be found reading in his spare time. Philip was a man of faith who attended Trinity Lutheran Church. Philip leaves behind his spouse, Joan; his sons, Kevin P. and wife Sharon Jones, and Robert E. Jones and fiancée Linda Rogan; and his daughter, Susan and husband Todd Kenyon, his step- daughter, Camille Miccoli and husband David Miccoli. Philip will be remembered by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as his in-laws, Dolores Borys and her late husband Henry. Philip was predeceased by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Anthony L. Madia, Sr. The Jones Family would like to extend their gratitude to Phil’s granddaughter, Dr. Erin Miles, for her help in navigating Phil’s medical care. In keeping with Philip’s wishes, there will be no public visitation; the family will honor his life in a private gathering. Entombment will take place in Calvary Mausoleum at the convenience of the family. In lieu of floral offerings, memorial contributions in Philips honor may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
