Patricia J. (Staley) Moran

September 10, 1936 - February 19, 2022

NEW HARTFORD – Patricia J. (Staley) Moran, age 85, went home to her Lord Saturday afternoon, February 19, 2022, with her family by her side. Patricia was born in Schenectady on September 10, 1936, to the late Raymond and Mildred (Ray) Staley. Patricia was then raised and educated through secondary school in the Mohawk School System. At one time, Patricia was married to the late Morris Moran, and to that relationship came the blessing of two daughters. Patricia could be remembered as one who cherished and respected her own mother and carried that love through the generations. When it was time for her children to have their own kids, Patricia went on to become a cherished and respected grandmother as well. She enjoyed a long career in her role as Secretary for the Engineering Department of UNIVAC Corp. Patricia enjoyed numerous activities, but of them all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren the most. A woman of great devotion to them, she was called “Nonnie” and spent many hours in dedicated time with them. Nonnie and the grandchildren loved to play cards together, as well as making time for peaceful trips to the beautiful Eagle Bay in the Adirondacks – a particular treat for all! Patricia was a very accepting grandmother whose heart bore a special love for each grandchild: the times she shared with them will be forever remembered by each one. She was also graced to know the affection and smiles of her great-grandchildren who brought a great gleam to her eyes. A woman with an adventurous nature, Patricia’s grace and discipline were fostered, beginning in her childhood, through roller dancing. Later in life, Patricia continued to improve these qualities by giving her soul, time, and talents to various adventurous endeavors, and by delving into her passion for music. She dearly loved music and delighted in the chance to share her vocal talents with others. Many considered her skill an exquisite gift that contributed to her church’s choir. Patricia actively enjoyed membership in the Sweet Adelines at the Sound of Silver in Oneida and the American Legion Auxiliary, Mohawk Post. Patricia was an avid reader who also enjoyed a good challenge in her 1000-piece puzzles and a good crossword puzzle. Patricia currently worshipped at and found wonderful community with those at Clinton United Methodist Church. Patricia is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Laura and the Honorable Ralph J. Eannace, Jr.; and Jennifer and Scott Zink. She will live on in the hearts of her many cherished grandchildren, Nicole Moran, Sarah and Luke Durr, Lillian Eannace and Austin Caro; Brandon Zink, Christian and Deanna Zink, and Jordan Zink. Patricia also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Clyde Taylor III, and Jaxson Davis; Ryan, and Alexis Durr; Brayden, and Connor Zink; Jayden, Silas, and Rosie Zink, and in anticipation of Isaac; and Logan Zink. Patricia was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Staley, a casualty of WWII; Arnold Staley, who passed at the age of 12; and her beloved sister Joyce Digman and her husband Charles. She leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She shared in several dear friendships, who will hold Patricia fondly in their hearts. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to Dr. Kevin McCormick, for all of his personal touches and guidance; to the administration and staff of the Masonic Care Community, especially the Erie Household; and to the ICU staff at MHVS St. Elizabeth’s Campus. To honor Patricia’s love of felines, especially Molly, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to CPV Rescue & Sanctuary, online at https://paypal.me/cpvsanctuary. Patricia’s family will celebrate her life at a private time, allowing them to remember her many good deeds and love of her Lord.
