October 29, 1930 - February 11, 2022
UTICA – Mrs. Louise “Pee Wee” (Vogt) Conkling, age 91, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, February 11, 2022, with her loving family by her side. Louise was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 29, 1930, to the late Otto and Irene (Giachetti) Vogt. As a young infant, Louise relocated with her family to Little Falls, NY, and there she was raised and educated. Louise shared in a union with Miguel “Angelo,” who sadly passed on October 13, 1996. Louise was blessed to be a mom and is remembered for her deep love of her children. She adored spending time with them and always wanted to be with them. Louise often engaged her children in fun activities, which she was also known to join. She was always up for anything that involved her loved ones. Louise was a courageous woman who was known for both her strong will and her selflessness. Not one to ignore the needs of others, Louise beautifully prioritized her family and those who crossed her path. Additionally, her family marveled at Louise’s capacity to overcome obstacles and adversities. A woman who delighted in many of life’s simple pleasures, Louise loved to sit on her front porch. This often afforded her the opportunity to connect with her neighbors, whom she adored and with whom she shared strong bonds. Louise enjoyed going out to eat with her family, and her loved ones fondly remember Louise’s passion for watching deer. Sometimes, she would stop by the cemetery just to catch a glimpse of the striking creatures. Louise believed in the Catholic Creed. Louise leaves behind her daughters and their loves, Beverly and Tony, Patricia, Rosemaria and Eric, and Brenda; as well as her sons and their loves, Fred and Cindy, James and Liz, Angelo and Tracy, and Joseph “Joey.” Louise held close to her heart the memory of her son Michael, who passed September 3, 2017. She will be lovingly remembered by her 18 grandchildren; she cherished the memory of her grandson Christopher, who passed away in 2020. Louise will live on in the hearts of her 23 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; her sister Agnes Miller; and her brothers Edward Vogt, and Robert Bowie. Louise treasured her friendship with Chucky Crouse, Sr., who was a loving presence in her life; her family appreciates Chucky’s loving care and commitment. She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph W. Vogt, Edwin J. Vogt, David B. Vogt, and her infant brother John Vogt; her sister and brother-in-law Marion and Stanley J. Bocon, Sr.; and her sister Violet Morgan. The Conkling Family would like to say “thank you” to the doctors, nurses, and staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, especially to the staff on the second floor. The family would also like to extend their gratitude to Jared and Michael, for their care and compassion; they went above and beyond their call of duty. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Eannace Funeral Home Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Louise’s Celebration of Life and Funeral Services on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
