Mr. Lorenzo Alfonso Jefferson Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

UTICA - Mr. Lorenzo Alfonso Jefferson, Jr., age 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 7, 2022, in the dignity of his home with his loving family by his side. Born in Brooklyn, NY on March 14, 1949, Lorenzo was the son of the late Lorenzo Jefferson and Gloria Jean Jackson. He was raised and educated in Brooklyn. A proud veteran, Lorenzo served his country with honor as a member of the United States Army. At one time, he was married to Andrea Hill. He then shared in a second union when he wed Sheila Zeigler. In earlier years, Lorenzo owned and operated Lorenzo & Sons Extermination Company in Brooklyn. He subsequently went on to study and earn his credentials as a Licensed New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Brooklyn. He also worked as a Security Guard. Upon relocating to Utica, he accepted a position at the Radisson Hotel and Hotel Utica as a Banquet Specialist. His experience led him to a position at the Turning Stone Casino as a Banquet Specialist where he worked until his retirement. A proficient and phenomenal Martial Arts expert, Lorenzo was a member of the American Karate Federation and met the qualifications of a 5th degree Black Belt. He was especially masterful with a samurai sword. He also belonged to the United States Association of Martial Artists. Lorenzo enjoyed the simple pleasures of life ~ music, especially Soul, Rhythm & Blues, and Rap; dancing, playing cards, particularly Spades; drinking a cold Budweiser brew, barbecuing, and celebrating birthday parties with loved ones. On every level, Lorenzo was very selfless and always available to lend a helping hand. As a family man, he cherished the company of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and he was so grateful and gratified that they were a part of his proudest moments. Throughout his life, Lorenzo was very spiritual. He loved the Lord and read his Bible every day. Amen. Lorenzo is survived by his children and their loves, Ronald and Tabitha, Edward, Lorenzo III, Shawn and Veronica, Jamarle, Elliot, Alfonso, Milek, Raheim, Loren and Vincent, Latasha, Sharay and Terry, Lorenzia, and Chante; his wonderful grandchildren, Shameese, Shateese, Derek Jr.; Tyler; Adrianna; Daryl Jr., King-Zamire, Terrayah; Simone, Yazmene, Cabrina; Myia, Nikko, Norio; Ryan, Aven, Xzavier, Katelyn, Nikko, Alanaah, Lavina, Lorenzo IV, Trevon, Isaiah; Jamarle; Alfonso Jr.; Javian, Kelim; Cayden, Nadine, Ryan; Devon, and Jeremiah; many cherished great-grandchildren; his sister, Gloria Johnson; and his brothers, Gary and Tracy, and Artie and Lisa. He cherished the memory of his brothers, Curtis, and Gregory; and his sister, Michelle who preceded him. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many special friends. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of MVHS at St. Luke’s Campus, the personnel of Hospice & Palliative Care for their comfort and compassion, and Pastor Kevin Hawkins for his spiritual guidance. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 16, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 pm at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Floral offerings are graciously accepted. Lorenzo’s Home Going Service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday at 4:00 pm at the funeral home.
