YORKVILLE - Mrs. JoAnne C. (Demma) Carollo, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at MVHS at St. Luke’s Healthcare. Born in Utica on February 19, 1941, JoAnne was the daughter of the late James and Anna (Licari) Demma. She was raised and educated in Utica. On August 2, 1959 she married Louis A. Carollo and together they shared a loving union of 61 years as one mind and one heart. Their marriage reflected the true meaning of the bible verse Mark 10:8-10 "And the two shall become one flesh; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate." She was an angel, with a heart of gold, unconditional love for everyone, and a beautiful, joyful spirit from God. At one time, JoAnne worked at UNIVAC, then General Electric, and the Indium Corporation, the position from which she retired. In her later years, she offered her services of in-home health care to many. She enjoyed the art of ballroom dancing with Louis, all over the city. She also loved singing and was featured in the Observer-Dispatched where she was crowned the “Karaoke Queen”! During the pandemic, she passed the time sketching with colored pencils, and sharing her work, fetching an income for her creations. At one time, JoAnne was a member of the Moose Club and was involved in charity work for the Wounded Warrior Project. JoAnne is survived by her husband Louis who lived for her and cared for her from the day he met her; her children, Ricardo, DeAnna, JoAnna and her fiancé, Wayne, and Maria Rocco; her daughter-in-law, Darice Saccal Carollo; grandchildren, Chanel Frattasio; Louis and his fiancee Candace Parr; and Ricardo and his fiancée Amanda; the memory of her sister, Theresa Spano who preceded; her brothers and sister-in-law, Leonard Demma, James and Pamela Demma, and the memory of her brother, Michael J.
