December 7, 1976 - July 26, 2020
ROME, NY - Mrs. Heather Marie Rimmer-Borruso, age 43, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 26, 2020. Born in Utica on December 7, 1976, Heather was the daughter of Joseph Rimmer and Sharon “Sherry” Tulej. She was raised and educated in Utica. On October 28, 2017 she married Leonard A. Borruso. At one time, Heather held employment at Subway on Albany Street, and subsequently at the Mohawk Street location. She later worked at Walmart as a Deli Manager, and more recently she was employed at Price Chopper on Commercial Drive as Co-Manager of the Deli Department. Heather had the needs of others in her heart, before her own needs. She once saw a man with no shoes, and she quietly gave him a pair. She was a people person, outgoing, giving, and loving. As a mother, she was known as Mama Bear for always being protective of her baby cubs. And she was so proud of her granddaughter, Natalie. She also loved the outdoors and all God’s creatures. She took them in when they needed a home and nurtured them. She had a magical way with animals. She cherished her cats and canines especially Lacie, Rocco, Chase, and Shadow, and her cat Jax who broke her foot. They were all one family. Heather is survived by her husband, Leonard; her parents, Joseph Rimmer and Sharon “Sherry” Tulej, and step-dad, Frank Colon; her adored children: daughters, Patience Ella Winn and fiancé Todd Wilcox, and Jessica Chantel Nash; and sons, Herman Jasper Nash IV, Michael Joseph Damiano, and Anthony Theodore Damiano; and her granddaughter, Natalie Rose Wilcox. She also leaves her sisters and brothers-in-law, Angelina and Richard McKenzie, Lillian and Daniel Pearson, J.J. Rimmer, Tammy Lucenti, Joann Benson, Victoria Colon, Veronica Colon, and Valerie Goico; brothers and sister-in-law, Joseph and Cookie Rimmer, and Lewis Rimmer; aunts, Roxanne Euson (her very special aunt who she always confided in), Charlotte Pantola, and Charlene Taylor; uncles, Brian and Irene Pantola, and Steven Taylor; nieces, especially acknowledging Giada Marie McKenzie; nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; cousins, especially acknowledging Michael Euson, Lisa Fidler, Malcolm Patterson, and Martin Euson; and many wonderful friends, especially her sidekicks, Kristina Weller, and Shae Durham. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 8th from 2:00-4:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Due to current restrictions, we will be operating at a reduced occupancy. We ask for your patience as we try to accommodate those coming to support the Rimmer-Borruso family. Please follow our staff’s guidance when you arrive. Face coverings are required and contact tracing will be implemented. A Final Blessing will be offered at 4:00 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation. Interment will take place at St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Cemetery in Whitesboro at the convenience of the family. Please take a moment to connect with Heather’s family through the “Memories” section of her obituary on our website. Our prayers continue to go out to all as a sign of our continued support.
