Born in Utica on October 5, 1926, Frances was the daughter of the late Joseph Frate and Mary (Romanelli) Frate-Giovampietro. She also knew the love of her step-father, Rocco. On November 18, 1944 she married Vincent S. “Jim” Dacquino with whom she shared 53 years. They were dedicated parents to their children, Jim passed away on December 16, 1997. Fran worked various jobs throughout her life. As a young adult her working career began at local area knitting mills including Beaunit Fibers. Most notably was her position as a Nurse Assistant in the Intensive Care Unit at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center. It was often said by her co-workers that she could run circles around the nurses! This beloved profession spanned for over 25 years. She was a hardworking provider who simultaneously raised her children and maintained her home. Fran was self-sacrificing and dedicated to her loved ones. She was happiest when her whole family gathered together under the same roof. She was a current parishioner of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish and a former communicant of St. Stanislaus Church. Until the very end of her life she prayed the rosary and watched Mass daily. Frances is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, MaryLynn and Roger F. Rebisz; her son, Thomas V. Dacquino , Vincent T. and June Dacquino, and David J. and Mary Dacquino; her grandchildren, Tami Dacquino; Jamie and Anthony Gumina, and Vincent Dacquino; Roger P. and Jean (Taylor) Rebisz, and Maria and Clifford Wiley; and her great-grandchildren, Christian Keeler, and Cadence “Caddie” Keeler who will miss their beloved “Ema”, and Chloe Rebisz, her “Nani” will always remain in her heart, and the anticipation of the birth of her additional great-granddaughter. Fran knew the love of her son’s friends who regarded her as a mom, Hossein H. Havai Tarshizi and his wife Maryam Hosseini, and Nesto and Kathy Orts. She will also be remembered by her sisters and brother-in-law, Dolores and Peter Giordano, and Josephine Ginnity; her many nieces and nephews who affectionately called her Aunt Francie, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and her goddaughter, Eleanor DeVito and her sister, Bonnie Purpura; and friends, Dorothy Mutolo, fellow residents at the Mt. Carmel apartments, and her hairdresser Selma along with the hairdressers and patrons of Pretty Woman. She was predeceased by her sister and brothers-in-law, Thelma “Mary” and Patrick Zinicola, John “Jack” Ginnity; several in-laws; and her friends, Roc and Gloria Ambruso, and John DeSimone. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all those who touched Frances’ life in a special way, especially acknowledging Anne Popeo, and Madeline Jones. The family wishes to thank Dr. Fred Talerico, Pat Rosati PA, and Taylor Arcuri PA, for their compassion and concern for Frances.
