Chenét Rose Homer Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

UTICA – Chenét Rose Homer, age 35, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 4, 2022, with those she loved most in her heart. Chenét was born in Utica on January 27, 1987, to Rosalie (Tartaglia) Homer and the late Lawrence “Larry” Homer. Though she and her family were in Utica during Chenét’s early years, the family relocated to North Carolina while she was still young and it was there she was raised and educated. Chenét found herself working in a variety of positions, but her favorite place of employment was at her last: a position at an Assisted Living Facility. Chenét realized she was particularly well-suited to this work, as the residents loved her, and she shared a great admiration for all those she came into contact with. A woman who balanced sassiness, honesty, who was also smart and witty, kind hearted, all while being a genuine person. Chenét could boast countless more wonderful qualities, including her wonderful sense of humor, her loyalty, and her love of adventure. She had even traveled across the country and was never known to say “no” to anything that excited her. Chenét had a loving, bubbly personality and would tell it like it is. Due to her strong will, she never met an obstacle that she couldn’t overcome and was therefore able to reach her goals. With hard work, Chenét always persevered. Chenét’s best friend Mona said it best, “Chenet was genuine, she was unapologetically just herself. She was sassy, and she had a heart of gold. I am so fortunate to have been her best friend. I will always remember her spunky, fun attitude. I will cherish the laughter and memories. I will always miss her. Good friends are like stars, you don't always see them but you know they are always there." Here is a quote by Steve Maraboli that says it wonderfully: “There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty.” Her charitable heart led Chenét to donate much of her time to helping at homeless shelters and battered woman’s shelters. Chenét is survived by her mother, Rosalie. She will live on in the hearts of her many cousins, as well as her aunts and uncles, Laura and William Brucato, Patricia Dodge, Joseph Tartaglia, Michelle and Richard Edic, Mark and Jacquelyn Homer, Allan and Melody Homer, Eric Homer and Julia, Frank Homer Jr., and Seth and Teresa Homer. Chenét will be fondly remembered by her two wonderful friends, Mona Huang, and Kathleen Roberto, as well as her special K9 companion, Chloe “Coco,” whom she loved with all her heart. Chenét was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Frank E. Sr. and Barbara (Schuff) Homer; her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Ann Caroline Tartaglia; her aunts and uncles, Jake Dodge, Elvira and Joseph Spine, Maryanne and Louis Drake, and Roger Tartaglia. A Memorial Gathering in Chenét’s honor will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Chenét’s Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will commence on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. immediately upon conclusion of the Memorial Gathering.
