Carol S. (Smith) Meyers

UTICA – Carol S. (Smith) Meyers, age 68, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, in the comfort and dignity of her home. Carol was born in Westfield, NY on October 29, 1955, the daughter of the late Rev. Roger B. and Jessie (Kennedy) Smith. Upon graduation from high school, she attended Utica School of Commerce where she received her associate degree in accounting. At one time, she was wed to Leo J. “Buddy” “Frog” Meyers, Sr., and from that union came the blessing of four children. Leo passed away on May 5, 2024. At one time, Carol held a position with the Bank of New York Mellon located in Oriskany. In her free time, she loved cooking and baking, creating masterpieces in the kitchen. Her specialties were her spaghetti sauce, sausage and bean soup, and chocolate chip cookies. A fantastic mother, Carol would go out of her way to give her children anything she could. She never failed to lend a sympathetic ear to those who needed someone to listen to them. She was never judgmental, and people were drawn to her because of this trait. She was affectionately known as “Mama Sue,” everyone was welcome in her home, and she provided loving care to anyone who crossed her path. Above all, she would do anything for her children. Her best memories were created with them, and she spent as much time with them as she possibly could. Carol is survived by her children and their loves, Samantha Meyers, Amber Meyers and Joseph Pike, Leo J., Jr. and Tonya Meyers, and Roger and Ashley Meyers; grandchildren, Melinda Ramos, Mia Ramos, Jaramiha Meyers, Joshua Meyers, Terrance Spencer, Jr.; Joseph Pike III, Johnathan Pike, Phyllis Pike; Leo Meyers III, Ryan Meyers, Caleb Meyers; Johnny Postal, Amber Meyers, Roger Meyers, Jr., Davien Meyers, Alisia Meyers, Isabella Meyers, Ethan Meyers, Aryanna Meyers, Dean Meyers, Hudson Meyers, and MaKayla Meyers; great-grandchildren, Selena, Kahari, Dorian, and Alexander; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Thomas Lynch; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and cousins, especially acknowledging Linda Blodgett. She also leaves to cherish her memory her dear friend, Gina True, whom she adored like a daughter and who aided in her care. Carol’s family will honor and commemorate her life privately.
