Antoinette "Titi" (Plado Costante) Bono

MARCY – Antoinette “Titi” (Plado Costante) Bono, age 62, passed away unexpectedly in the comfort and dignity of her home on Friday, August 18, 2023. Antoinette was born in Forbach, France on November 17, 1960 to Giovanni “John” and Caterina (Mauro) Plado Costante. As a young girl, along with her family, they relocated to the United States and made their new home in Marcy. She was a graduate of Whitesboro High School/Class of 1980. At one time, she was wed to Mark Bono. For 30 years, she held employment with the local UFCW as a membership representative, the position from which she eventually retired. Many people will also recall seeing her warmth and smile as she served them at Alfredo’s Ristorante. In her retirement years, she assisted in the lunch room at Marcy Elementary School and enjoyed also her time at Hemstrought’s Bakery. She was a hard worker to her core, and never refused any work projects. Antoinette’s whole existence revolved around her family. She was endlessly devoted to the care and wellbeing of her mother and father and her loving siblings. She also treated her nieces and nephews as though they were her own children. A woman with a vivacious personality, she was extremely passionate and endeared herself to all who knew her. Her smile could light up a room – and she had a lovely sense of humor to match it. Her warm heart drew her close to so many people that she said she “never met a stranger.” She loved being outdoors, especially at the beach. She also played a mean game of golf, and loved flowers. Antoinette is survived by her parents, Giovanni “John” and Caterina; her siblings and their spouses, Rosa and Fred Ashley, JoAnn and Joseph DeSimone, Maria and William Maher, Grace and Matthew Kowalczyk, Joseph and Mary Margaret Plado Costante, and Salvatore and Karen Plado Costante. She cherished the memory of her brother Dominick Plado Costante, who preceded her on September 1, 2021, leaving behind her sister-in-law Judy Plado Costante. Her loss is also felt by her nieces and nephews, Amanda, Michael, Nicole, Danielle and Bennett, Gabrielle, Angelina, Isabella, Nicholas and Julianne, her godson Joseph, Matthew II, her godson John Joseph, Mary Margaret and Alex, Dominick Jr., goddaughter Kristina and Brett, Dana, Gabriella, and Adriana; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Noah, Jacob, Hudson, Harrison, Harper Grace, Isabella, Matteo; and was proud to be expecting another great-niece or great-nephew in January. She also leaves her aunts and uncles, Gino and Angela Plado Costante, her godmother in France Maria Plado Costante, Salvatore and Michelle Mauro, Maria and David Tucci, Gina and Joe Burke, Dominick and Jean Mauro, Tony and Karen Mauro, and in Italy Maria Plado Costante. Antoinette was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Dominick and Rose Mauro; her paternal grandparents, Giuseppe and Giovanna Plado; and her aunts and uncles, Calogero and Croce Plado Costante, her godfather Giuseppe Plado Costante, Gaetano Plado Costante, and Joseph and Josephine Mauro. The family wishes to specially thank the Maynard Fire Department, members of the NY State Troopers and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department for their kindness and compassion in the family’s time of need. Antoinette’s family will honor and commemorate her life privately. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life which will commence on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish, 684 Jay St. There will be an opportunity to greet the family at the conclusion of Mass. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
