Mr. Anthony P. "Tony" Mannino
March 14, 1935 - January 18, 2022
NORTH UTICA – Mr. Anthony P. “Tony” Mannino, age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, with his loving family by his side. Tony was born in Frankfort, NY, on March 14, 1935 to the late Carl and Theresa (Galvano) Mannino. There he was raised and attended local Frankfort schools for his early years; later he learned the trade of electricity while studying at Boys Trade School on Elizabeth Street. On October 13, 1956, Tony married the love of his life, the former Joanne Aquado. The two had a beautiful union and were blessed to share 65 years of marriage together. Their family was the focus of Tony’s existence. Upon graduating from trade school, Tony accepted a position as a motor winder at Westinghouse Electric Corporation. After ten years of employment there, he then accepted a new position at Remington Arms as an electrician. Tony remained with Remington for 34 years of dedicated service, and would eventually retire from the company, where he had moved up to Foreman of the Powdered Metal Division. An easy-going and quiet man, Tony was always ready to lend a helping hand and would often offer his electrical expertise. In fact, he was fondly referred to as “MacGyver” for his ability to find creative and technical solutions to the wide variety of problems he would tackle. For fun, Tony enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling, and was a member of the Ilion Fish and Game Club. Tony was a member of the North Utica Senior Center. He was truly a man with a generous spirit. Tony is survived by his beloved wife Joanne; his sons, Manuel Mannino, and Carl Mannino; and his sister, Mamie and Tom Dellaposta. Tony will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Manuel Bollo and Angeline (Palumbo) Aquado; as well as his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary and Harold “Red” Worden, Leonarda “Lee” and Robert P. “Bobby” Servatius, and Frances Rose. The Mannino family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Julie Gorczynski and Tony’s previous physician, Dr. David Petrie, for their professionalism and compassionate care. They would also like to thank the Utica Fire Department for their valiant efforts, and Tony’s neighbors who became his close friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the Eannace Funeral Home Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Tony’s Celebration of Life and funeral service will commence at noon upon the conclusion of visitation offered by his nephew Rev. Tom Servatius. Regardless of vaccination status, face masks are required to remain in compliance with the state and county mask order. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
