Mr. Willie Rodriquze

Mr. Willie C. Rodriquze, age 57, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Siegenthaler Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Mart, Texas on July 24, 1956, Willie was the son of the late Joe Rodriquze and Equilla Hughes. He was raised and educated in Hubbard, Texas. Upon his relocation to Utica, he attended the Utica School of Commerce. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He shared his love and life with Lucille Brown in a devoted relationship of over 30 years. Willie worked in the Laundry Department of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center until the time of his illness. He was a man who enjoyed simple pleasures like cook-outs with his family or a good game of cards. He was a sports enthusiast and had the accuracy and the eye to shine in the cue sport of billiards. Willie was innately intelligent and always looked to increase his knowledge and keep up with current events. He was strong-willed and willing to lend a helping hand whenever he could. But it was Willie’s generous and caring nature that will follow him in the memories of those who knew and loved him. Willie is survived by his companion, Lucille; his daughters and son-in-law, Danielle Brown, and Dena and Rielik Evans; his son and daughter-in-law, Willie and Connie Howard; and his grandchildren, Willie, Amara, Sierra, Brianna, and Matthew. He also leaves behind his sisters and brother-in-law, Irene and Charles Bowens, Annie Be Randall, Gloria Campbell and Mary Rodriquze; his brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Barbara Randall, Ernest and Hestoria Randall and John Rodriquze; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws Barbara and Anthony Murray, David Howard, Robert and Dez Jenkins, Theresa and Anthony Howard, Charles Howard, James and Megan Howard, Mary and William Tolbert, Eva Lee Howard, and Janette Howard. He was predeceased by his brothers Wally Rodriquez, Nathaniel Randle and Roy Lee Campbell; his sister Johnnie Mae Rodriquze; and his mother-in-law Mary Howard. The family extends sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Siegenthaler Hospice Center, and Willie’s dear friends, Ernestine Brown, Anne Smith, and Rosevelt Patterson. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00-2:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Willie’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Elder Anthony Murray officiating the ceremony. Committal services and Interment with Military Honors will take place graveside at Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
