Mr. William Michael "Little Man" Morris, Jr.

UTICA – Mr. William M. "Little Man Skully" Morris, Jr., age 25, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 3, 2023. Born in Utica on May 17, 1997 to William Michael Morris, Sr. and Nakita M. Hagans, he was raised and educated locally. He finished his studies at BOCES, where he obtained his OSHA 10 for construction. William shared a loving relationship with Shauntel Grant, and from that love came the blessing of a son Khari. At one time, he held a position at the Grand Rehab Center, and later found employment at Friendly’s as a cook. Currently, he worked hard as a cook at Texas Roadhouse. William stepped up and was a wonderful father, always tending to his family’s needs. He was so well loved by his entire family and a host of friends, cousins, and coworkers. William had a fashionable streak - he loved dressing nicely and selecting nice clothes and shoes. He also loved to crank up the music and was a fine and suave dancer. He had a wonderful sense of humor and could always get laughs out of people. To know William was to love him. He had a smile that could light up any room. He was outgoing and loved life. He was gentle and kind but can be a knucklehead at times. He loved spending time with family and close friends. His greatest joy was the birth of his son; his son was his world, which made him strive harder for the things he wanted to provide for his son in life. William was known for his dancing abilities, which came to him effortlessly. Those who knew him most admired him and will remember him for all of his kindnesses. William had a variety of hopes and dreams. He shared special bonds with his Uncle Frank and his brother, Michael, who was referred to as his lookalike. William is survived by his loving Shauntel; his son, Khari Morris; his mother, Nakita Hagans; his father, William (Moriah) Morris, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Mary (Hagans) Smith and the late James Smith; and his paternal grandparents, Miss Eloise Morris and the late Willie Morris. His loss is also felt by his sister, Ny’Quasha Morris; and his brothers, Abraham, Jaylani, Abdimalik, Tajay, Tahjmaleek, Michael, Isiah, Elijah, Nassir, and Syncere. He is also survived by his many aunts and uncles, including special aunt, Tonia Hagans; his two nephews, Tahjmaleek, Jr., and Arian; members of Shauntel’s family, especially her mother Dorothea Miller; and a host of many friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. A Home Going Service and Celebration of life will immediately follow at 3 p.m. William will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
