N. UTICA - Mr. William H. “Bill” “Mr. P.” Peck, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, after a valiant battle with metastatic malignant melanoma. His passing occurred in the comfort and dignity of his home, with his loving family by his side. Born in Fort Carson, CO on October 30, 1957, William was the son of the late William F., Sr. and Evelyn (Madsen) Peck. His mother tragically passed away when he was only 2 years old, and he was so blessed to be raised by his maternal grandmother, Bernice Madsen. As an infant, along with his family, they relocated to Unadilla, NY where he was raised and educated. At one time William was wed to Tina Russell, and from that union came the blessing of his daughter, Miranda. He was blessed with a second union when he married the former Mary Ann Jones on June 10, 2006. The couple shared a blessed relationship for over 18 years. They were inseparable, sharing many special memories while building a home and their life together. The two truly brought out the best in each other. In his professional life, Bill was dedicated to his career working in manufacturing, having been employed at Tieco-Unadilla Corporation in Unadilla, NY and Amphenol Aerospace in Sidney, NY, before retiring from Varflex Corporation in Rome, NY, as a tower operator. William took his role as protector and provider of his family with love and sincerity. He was incredibly supportive of his family and never missed any of his daughter's or grandchildren's sporting events no matter what, even when battling his illness. His grandchildren meant the world to him. He was extremely outgoing and friendly, always conversing with anyone, even strangers; he was very sociable and would talk to anybody and everybody. He was very festive and always the life of the party! You never knew what costume in which he would arrive. You could always find him in his signature attire of flip flops, shorts, and a cut off shirt, no matter the time of year. Music was his life, wherever there was music was where he wanted to be. He loved his friendship with the late Freddy Piperata, a local musician whom he adored. William was very meticulous, especially when it came to exterior of his home; he loved maintaining everything to a “T” and also enjoyed gardening. He annually held “Mr. P's Pitch Tournament” for 36 years straight. William is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann; daughter and son-in-law, Miranda and Billy Katalinas; and his grandchildren whom he lovingly adored, Johnathan, Christopher "C.J.", Delila, Dominic, and Zane. He fondly remembered his siblings who preceded him, William F. Peck, Jr., and Wendy Faye Peck. He is additionally survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins; aunt, Beth Madsen (the late John Madsen); mother-in-law, Jennie Jones (the late Sherman F. Jones, Sr.); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sherman, Jr. and Donna Jones, Michael and Kelly Jones, and Cathy Taurisano (the late Joseph F. “Joe” Taurisano); and many dear friends. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo for their care and compassion; Oneida Health Care, and the staff of the ICU at Oneida Health Hospital for their beautiful hearts; and Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. for their care and professionalism. A Memorial Gathering in William's honor will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. William's Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will commence at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
