Trey Mitchell Hubbard

ILION – Trey Mitchell Hubbard, age 33, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Born in Flushing, New York, Trey was the son of Edward and Gay (Archer) Hubbard. He was raised in Queens and was a graduate of Springfield High School. A proud veteran of the United States Army National Guard, Trey served his country as a Signal Support Specialist during natural disasters. He was deployed for the Mohawk Valley Water issues and also during Hurricane Katrina. Trey shared an eight year relationship with the former Sherra Finch, a union that was sanctified on October 19, 2012. Together Trey and Sherra raised five children as one family. Trey worked in the construction field. He was talented, creative, and outstanding in his God-given abilities. He operated Hubbard & Company with great vision and integrity. Trey also had an advanced knowledge of computer skills. He could build them and was very good at operating many programs. He was kind and helpful in many ways to many people. He was a reserved man who embraced good moral values that guided his life. A proud dad, he supported his children and made it a priority to attend all their school and sporting events. As a family-oriented man, he loved those in his immediate household as well as his extended family. Holidays were all about the kids and food. His favorite was baked mac & cheese, but his second choice was anything that had bacon; many of these dishes he could fancy himself. Trey enjoyed all genres of music, from Louie Armstrong to the original rock ’n roll. He was active in sports, including softball, tennis, bowling, archery, golf, and fishing, especially with his dad. Trey loved animals to the point where he interned at the Crossbay Animal Clinic, run by Dr. Weinstein who for many years has been contracted with The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to examine and hold in quarantine, by law, all animals coming into this country. He was a good guy with a gentle soul … a bright light is gone from this world!!! Trey is survived by his wife, Sherra; his children, Amadia, Janarious, Sasia, Ayden, and Ethan; his parents, Edward and Gay; his brother and sister-in-law, Roy Hubbard (Danielle), and precious nephew Grayson Olorin Hubbard; aunts and uncles, Greg and Mabel Archer; Norman, Joan, Robert, and Eleanor Hubbard; and aunts and uncles from the Hubbard side of the family; first cousins, Benjamin Archer, Brian Archer, and Michael Archer; Margaret and husband Ramon Thorne, Carlton Crooms (Brenda), Nikki Hubbard-White (Curtis), Kim Hubbard (Allen), as well as a great number of additional second and third cousins, too numerous to mention. He will be remembered by his father-in-law, Raymond Finch and his wife Loretta; in-laws, Raymond and Holly Finch, James and Dana Finch, Matthew and Amber Finch, Travis Wedgren, Dakota Wedgren, Justin Finch and fiancée Elizabeth, and Shane Finch. Trey was favored by his best friends, Timothy Edwards and his mom Kathy, Angela Rothrock, and Joseph Ingram. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Crystal J. Wedgren who loved him very much. Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00-7:00 pm at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave., Utica, NY 13501. A Time of Reflection will commence on Friday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with military honors conferred.
