Thomas M. Anderson, Jr. “TJ”, age 27, of Utica, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 22, 2012. Born in Rome, NY on July 11, 1984, Thomas was the son of Thomas M. Sr. and Michele (Adams) Anderson. He received his primary education in the Catholic School System and was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School Class of 2002. He also pursued a career in Nursing at M.V.C.C. where his GPA of 4.0 earned him a place on the President’s List. Blessed with a keen mind, TJ was a computer whiz and had a high aptitude in mathematics and science which he offered in mentoring others. He also enjoyed playing the clarinet all through grammar school. He played Pop Warner football and Little League as a youngster and was also a member of the Proctor High School Football team.TJ loved fishing, a sport he learned from his dad and uncle, and which he shared with his daughter. As a sports enthusiast he was a fan of the NY Giants and the NY Yankees and was lucky and masterful at the game of poker. TJ had been employed at the United Auto Sale’s in the reconditioning department, St. Elizabeth Medical Center and also worked as a Customer Service Representative at APAC. He was generous, polite, and responsible even during his youth and was often referred to as ‘an old soul’. He loved everyone with all his heart, especially his adored daughter; he would do anything at any time for her and his friends. He also took time for family dinners; his mom and grandma would prepare his favorite foods whenever he “placed an order.” He was also the “big brother” to his brother and sister, always making sure they had the little extras they needed. TJ is survived by his cherished daughter, Gabriella “Gabby”, age 4; and his family will cherish the memories of Gabby’s mom, Kylie. He also leaves his parents, Tom and Michele; paternal grandmother, Rosalie Anderson; maternal grandparents, Eileen Murphy and Bart Zurek; his brother and sister-in-law, Travis and Jenna Anderson; and his sister, Aireanna Rose Anderson. His extended family includes his aunts and uncles, Robert Adams and Yvette Guzman, Renee Guardado, Debra Zurek and Dwayne Morse, Kimberly Zurek, Vincent and Selina Anderson; his "Auntie" Anna Marie Catrombone; several great-aunts, great-uncles and many beloved cousins. He was also blessed with many loyal friends including Jamie and Jason King, Shawn Santiago, Brandon and Aaron Wilson, Tony Zammiello and Beau and his cousin Steven Catrombone; his godparents, Mary Ann Deveans, and Joseph Catrombone; and his godfather by confirmation, James King. He was predeceased by his great-grandmother, Victoria Grande “Grandma Moe”; his uncle Salvatore Scalzo “Uncle JR”; and cousin, Michael Catrombone. The family sends sincere thanks to Aunt Jeanette Scalzo, Cousin Sabrina Cozza, Jennifer Coughlin, Sgt. Scully, UPD and Michael Scalzo of the Mobile Crisis Assessment Team whose compassion and sensitivity were appreciated at such a difficult time. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South Street, corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral arrangements. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Thomas’ funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Wednesday morning at 10:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
