Theresa Rose (Indiveri) Puleo

Mrs. Theresa Rose (Indiveri) Puleo, affectionately referred to by loved ones as “mema”, age 90, of Newport, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born in Utica on March 15, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Victoria Indiveri. On September 24, 1938, she married the love of her life, Philip A. Puleo, and together they cherished their union until his passing in 1975. Theresa was a unique woman, blessed with an inner strength and a plentitude of life experiences. She possessed a respectful nature and was treated with high regard by those who loved her. She was a good listener and was always ready to lend a hand. Theresa touched so many lives, and brought so much laughter to all that she will be deeply missed by all those who loved her. She was a talented musician, gifted in playing many musical instruments. She was also gifted with a love and appreciation of the beauty of nature and of animals and creatures both great and small. This love she passed on to her granddaughter, Heidi. “Memories are windows that hold the past in view Through them we can see again each joy we ever knew.” Theresa is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and M. Richard “Dick” Wester, with whom she resided. She cherished Richard as a son. She also leaves her adored grandchildren, Heidi Victoria Wester and Donald Brett Wester, and his children, Kirstie Ann and Timothy Brett Wester; her extended family members, William and Sally Wester and their children. Also surviving are her Godchildren, especially acknowledging Donna Recchio; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousin, Ann Amarosa. In addition, she leaves her in-laws, Martha and Sam Deliberto; her best friend, Elinor Curri; and Annette Wilcox and Barbara Yerdon, whom she considered as daughters; and Robin Hellinger whom she considered as a granddaughter. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial gathering on Saturday from 9:15-10:15 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Mrs. Puleo’s Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 10:30 at the conclusion of visitation. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South Street, corner of Hammond Ave. "Words alone could never express the beauty of her life. She was one of a kind.
