Mrs. Terese Anne (Felitto) Montana

UTICA - Terese Anne (Felitto) Montana, age 65, went peacefully to the Lord on Sunday, January 13, 2019 when she passed away at MVHS at St. Luke’s Healthcare with her devoted family by her side. Born in Utica on November 25, 1953, Terese was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Elizabeth J. (Castle) Felitto. She was raised and educated locally. At one time, she was married to Phillip J. Montana with whom she shared 30 years in a devoted union prior to his passing on July 6, 2008. For over 30 years, Teresa worked at K-Mart in New Hartford, the position from which she retired as a Manager. Above anything else, her greatest joy was derived from her family, children, and grandchildren. She lovingly cared for her grandkids daily, offering her nurturing skills and loving heart. A quiet, but witty woman, she was blessed with a compassionate soul. She loved reading, especially autobiographies, medical journals, and history. Terese is survived by her daughters, Gina M. Montana and her fiancé Joseph Nicholas, and Marissa Montana-Guzman and her husband Angel; grandchildren, Luciano Guzman, and Santina Guzman; her sister and brother-in-law, Gail and Joseph Scarafile; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Anthony and Janice Felitto, Lawrence and Julie Felitto, and Joseph Jr. and Donna Felitto. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, in-laws, Helen and Daniel Darjany; and her loving companion, Edward Griffin. She was predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph G. and Patricia Montana; and her in-laws, Matthew F. Montana, and Guy Camello, III. The family is grateful to Jolene and Jaime from the PCU at MVHS at St. Luke’s for their loving care and concern. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Gathering and visitation which will be held Saturday from 2:00-4:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Terese’s Memorial service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Pastor David Ossenfort officiating the ceremony. Inurnment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
