Teresa E. (Coriale) DiGiorgio

Mrs. Teresa E. (Coriale) DiGiorgio, age 90, of Schuyler and formerly of Utica, passed away peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at home. Born in Utica on June 7, 1916, Teresa was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Carmella (Abriola) Coriale. She was raised and educated locally. On September 12, 1936 she married Giacindo “Jack” DiGiorgio with whom she shared a loving union of 64 years until his passing in January 2001. At one time, Teresa held a position at the Mele Manufacturing Co., and concurrently, as a beautician, she owned and operated Terry’s Beauty Salon located on Albany St. As a dedicated homemaker, she was an old fashioned, devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and her life revolved around her family and their well-being. She was a talented baker, and enjoyed sharing her cookies and pastries with her family. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church. Mrs. DiGiorgio is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles A. and Margaret “Peggy” DiGeorgio of Schuyler; and her daughters and son-in-law, Marguerite “Marge” Miller of Whitesboro, and Carmelita A. and John H. Armstrong of Sauquoit. She cherished the memory of her daughter, Jacqueline Lingle, who passed away in 2002. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition, she leaves her sister, Angeline Motto of FL, her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; her sister-in-law, Mary Coriale; and her brother-in-law, Thomas Castano. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Castano, her brothers, Salvatore F. Coriale, and Benjamin F. Coriale, Jr., and her son-in-law, Robert G. Miller, who passed away in 2001. The entire family offers its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Fung, her physician, and Dr. Patel, for their care and professionalism. Also, the family acknowledges Mindy, from Alternative Care, and Lonnie, from Centrex Lab for the love and concern they showed to Teresa. Visitation will be held Wednesday (today) from 4-7 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Teresa’s funeral will commence on Thursday morning at 8:00 from the funeral home and at 9:00 at St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will take place in Calvary Mausoleum.
