Mrs. Susan Marie (Puleo) Reuter

UTICA – Mrs. Susan Marie (Puleo) Reuter unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the age of 66. Born in Utica on January 12, 1959, Susan was the beloved daughter of Sally (Fiore) Puleo and the late John A. Puleo. She attended T.R. Proctor High School, where she graduated with high honors in her Class of 1977. Susan went on to further her education at Mohawk Valley Community College and SUNY Geneseo, earning her Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Business Administration, graduating with honors, Magna Cum Laude. On May 4, 1991, Susan wed Richard Reuter, Jr. Together, they embarked on a loving and devoted union, filled with many beautiful memories. Susan was employed at M. Griffith Investment Services Inc. earlier in her career and, more recently, worked at Hummel’s Office Plus as an I.T. Specialist. She took great pride in her work and was especially proud to have created Hummel’s monthly newsletter. A beautiful woman, Susan was also a loving wife and devoted mother. Her life revolved around her family, especially her son, who meant the world to her. Selfless and nurturing by nature, she always placed the needs of her loved ones above her own. A woman of great sacrifice, Susan was a true matriarch—detail-oriented, perceptive, and fully committed to everything she undertook, giving 110% in all she did. Susan had a charitable spirit and was always willing to support worthy causes, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, United Way, the ASPCA, and her local churches. In her younger years, she was an avid skier. In her spare time, Susan enjoyed gardening and landscaping, tending meticulously to both her yard and her home. She had a passion for jewelry and took pride in displaying her collection. She had an impeccable style and a flair for decorating, always keeping up with the latest trends. She loved dancing and dressing up, especially for Halloween, which she always made a special event. Susan adored all animals, particularly her canine companions. Susan is survived by her mother, Sally (Fiore) Puleo; loving husband, Richard; son, Michael R. Reuter and Shauna Lombardo; and brother John A. Jr. and Darcel Puleo. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Dominick Puleo and Nicole Romeo, Danyelle (Puleo) Stevens and her husband David; Christopher and Cassie Maine, Kristin (Legacy) Spinella, Samantha (Maine) Conde, and Kolbey Legacy; mother-in-law, Denise (Leveroni) Reuter (the late Richard Reuter, Sr.); in-laws, Kim and Dan Maine, and Kyle and Scott Legacy; and many special friends. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the first responders for their valiant efforts, and to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Wynn Hospital for their care and compassion. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Susan’s Mass of Chrisitan Burial and Celebration of Life, which will commence on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church, 422 Tilden Ave. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
