Shana Reahoo "Ling Ling" Chourb

UTICA – Shana Reahoo "Ling Ling" Chourb, age 22, departed to her next life unexpectedly on November 7, 2023. Born in Beverly, MA on September 11, 2001, Shana was the beloved daughter of Amanda (Vanny) Chourb. In 2001, her family relocated to Utica where she grew into a lively and ambitious young woman. Shana attended Watson Williams Elementary School and Donovan Middle School where she excelled at the sport of soccer. She went on to graduate from T.R. Proctor High School in 2019. At the time of her passing, she was nurturing her dream of becoming a nurse through BOCES, with aspirations to graduate in 2024. She was prideful and hoped for a fulfilled life for her and her daughter. An entrepreneur at heart, Shana excelled in nail care and waxing and was a home aide who advocated for care with compassion. Her talents extended into fashion, where she giftedly designed clothing for both men and women, capturing the admiration of all who saw her creations. Energetic, with a beautiful heart always in the right place, Shana's individualistic and strong nature truly shined through in all she did. She was a blessed daughter, and the relationship with her siblings was unique and there was always a lot of love. As a young girl, she brought her daughter, Synn Marie, into the world and Synn brought the best out in everyone. The two had the same personality and Synn considered her mom as her best friend. Shana's love and legacy continue through her daughter who she has left in the loving care of her mom and family, ensuring her memory and spirit will live on. She traveled to Puerto Rico for her birthday, and she was a fun-loving party girl. Just tell her where the house party was, and she was there! Shana was a free spirit, yet she enjoyed her alone time. She treasured her friendships, but don’t cross her! She put her heart and soul into everything she did, and all will remember her loving and outgoing personality, one not to be duplicated. Her achievements were many for her young age, mastering various trades and setting and accomplishing lofty goals. Shana's presence was a beacon of success and self-reliance. Family gatherings will miss her enthusiasm for food. She enjoyed eating, filling her first plate and reserving the next. Soul food was one of her favorites along with curry, pho, egg rolls, sweet and sour soup, and Asian stew “Kor”. Shana's journey on Earth was a testament to her strength, love, and zest for life. She will be forever remembered, deeply missed, and always cherished by everyone that loved her. Shana is survived by her daughter, Synn Marie at 8 years of age; her mother, Amanda; her siblings and their loves, Tommy Chourb, Chandaravy "Sarah" and Walkery Mills, IV, Alex Chourb, Frankie Chourb, Martha Chourb, Asia Guantero, and Ayasha Guantero; cherished nieces and nephews, Elliot, and Avery; Jada, Mya, and Walkery, V; Midoriya, and Ariel; and Mila; and aunts and uncles, Vanna Chourb, Vandy Chourb, Savuthyna Chourb, and Buthchhay Chourb. She was preceded by her uncle, Vannark Chourb. She also leaves behind many “besties” who were like family. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South Street, corner of Hammond Ave. A Buddhist Monk Chanting Ceremony will commence at 2:00 p.m., followed by a procession to the Crematory at Forest Hill.
