Sandra L. "Sandy" Muraco-Rabideau

Sandra L. “Sandy” Muraco-Rabideau, age 71, passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at The Siegenthaler Center with her devoted family by her side. Born in Utica on May 12, 1944, Sandy was the daughter of the late Francis Rabideau and Lucille Williams. She also knew the love of her step-father, Henry Williams. She was raised and educated in local schools. At one time, she was married to Pasquale Muraco. Sandy was employed at Frederich’s Air Conditioning Company as a Welder/Press Operator, retiring in 1987. A selfless woman of great humility, she worked hard and sacrificed to meet the needs of her family. She was always true to the people she loved and she never expected anything in return. She enjoyed games of chance, bingo, and Yahtzee with her friend Tony. Sandy is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Leah Donaldson and Anthony of Utica, Kim and Joseph Blidy of Cicero, and Melissa and Lance Benware of Clinton; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Jennifer Muraco of Pennsylvania; and her grandchildren, Dana and Anthony Colantuono, Michael Donaldson and Brittani DeCicco; Brittany Blidy, Katherine Blidy, Nicole Blidy, and Emily Blidy; Andrew Muraco, Allison Muraco, and Aaron Muraco. She will also be remembered by her sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Steve Sarus; her brother, Wayne Rabideau; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, in-laws Tony and Mary Citriniti; and her friends, Tony Pelli, and David Cunningham. She was predeceased by her brother, Kenneth Rabideau; her sister, Marilyn DeAngelis; her brother-in-law, Frank “Butch” Muraco; and her fishing buddy, June Smith. The family would like to especially thank Dr. David Petrie, Julie Gorczynski, and staff at the Washington Mills Medical Center for years of care and compassion they had shown to Sandy. Additional thanks goes to the Siegenthaler Center for the kindness, comfort and dignity shown to Sandy during her brief stay. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2:30-4:30 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Sandy’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday afternoon at 4:30 at the conclusion of visitation with Sister Betty Giarrusso, CSJ officiating the ceremony. Interment will take place in St. Agnes Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
