Mrs. Sandra A. "Sandy" (Kinville) Forte

Mrs. Sandra A. “Sandy” (Kinville) Forte, age 66, of Utica, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2010 at the Siegenthaler Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. with her loving family by her side. Born in Savannah, Georgia on February 14, 1944, Sandra was the daughter of Oliver and Anne (Coggins) Kinville. She was raised and educated locally. On December 3, 1960 she married Neno A. Forte with whom she shared an abiding love and blessed union, recently celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. For many years, Sandy was employed by the Great American and Price Chopper Grocery stores in their bakery departments, after which her priorities were taking care of the needs of her loved ones, always putting others before herself. She dedicated her life to the happiness and well-being of her family, especially her grandchildren. When her children were younger Sandy would assist them in all their endeavors and activities at home and at their school, St. Anthony of Padua. She also enjoyed playing bingo and trying her luck at the Turning Stone and Las Vegas casinos. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Sandy is survived by her husband, Neno; her son, Mike Forte of Utica; her grandchildren, Breanna Forte, and JoElle Buck; and her great-grandchild, Bruno Brown. Survivors also include her sister and brother-in-law, Bonny and Chris Drewnowski of Corning, NY; her brother and sister-in-law, Darren and Jackie Kinville of Vacaville, CA; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and her longtime special friends, Lenny and Anna Nolan, and her childhood friend, Delores Potazzala. Also dear to Sandy were Trina and Dave Gigliotti, and Oi Robbins. She was predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nazzareno and Lavinia Forte. The family extends sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center 6th floor, the personnel of the Siegenthaler Center, and her extended family and friends who offered their love and support to the family during this difficult time. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be considered to Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. in lieu of flowers; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Sandy’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Friday morning at 9:30 from the funeral home and at 10:30 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Anthony P. LaFache. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
