Rose M. (Koury) Pacielio

Mrs. Rose M. (Koury) Pacielio, of Utica, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2009 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Mankato, Minnesota, Rose was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Joseph) Koury. She was raised and educated locally. Rose was blessed with a marriage to Albert Moretti who lost his life defending his country during World War II. In June of 1952 she married Richard Pacielio with whom she shared 22 years in a loving and devoted union prior to his passing on December 16, 1974. For many years Rose was employed by the Kenwell Sporting Goods Manufacturing Company. She was a caring, loving individual who was inspired by her faith. She was a parishioner of St. Louis Gonzaga Church and a member of the St. Elias Society, St. Mary’s Guild, and St. Moura Ladies Society. Rose is survived by her sister, Helen M. Koury, with whom she resided; and her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Nettie Koury, all of Utica; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and sisters-in-law, Anne Koury and Marie Duffy, both of Utica. She also leaves her dear friends, Marge and Vinny Gianotti. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Ruth T. and George Abdoo; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, George T. and Shemony Koury, Benedict Koury, Bashir and Minnie Koury, and Edward J. and Sadie Koury. The family extends gratitude to the nurses and staff of the 5th floor at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center and Dr. Dilip Kachare for their care and professionalism. Visitation will be held Monday (today) from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. The Prayer of Incense will be offered on Monday evening at 5:45 at the funeral home. By family request, please omit floral offerings. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions in Rose’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Rose’s funeral service will commence on Tuesday morning at 8:00 from the funeral home and at 9:00 at St. Louis Gonzaga Church, where the Divine Liturgy of the Faithful Departed will be celebrated by Father Bassam Saade, Pastor. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
