Rose L. (Medici) Doti

Mrs. Rose L. (Medici) Doti, age 95, our wonderful mother, joined our dad and her grandson, Trevor Raymond Bader, in eternal rest on Thursday, March 19, 2009. Born in Utica on February 2, 1914, Rose was the daughter of the late Anthony and Angelina (Pagliaro) Medici. She was raised in Utica and attended local schools. On June 15, 1935 she married Rocco A. Doti and in 1985 the couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; they shared in a loyal and loving union of more than 63 years prior to Rocco’s passing on February 1, 1999. During her working years, Rose was employed as a seamstress in many of Utica’s sewing establishments, lastly working at LaSaires Corporation before retirement. A beautiful person inside and out, Rose loved life and God blessed her with 95 years of it. She loved and cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she had a special place in her heart for her great-nieces and nephews. She loved to sing her special songs which put a smile on everyone’s face and she was a magnificent cook especially known for her tomato pie. She was for many years a member of the Daughters of Columbus. Rose is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Angela T. and Leo J. Perritano of New Hartford, and Angela M. and Raymond Bader of Albany; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. and Laura Doti of Utica; her loved and cherished grandchildren, Renee and Paul Mancuso, Leo and Patty Perritano, Michele and John Bonavicino, Nadine Bader, Rocco Doti, and Michael and Becky Doti. Always close to her heart was the memory of her adored grandson, Trevor Raymond Bader, who passed away in 1995. She also leaves her 10 great-grandchildren. Survivors include her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Joseph J. Scire, and Angelo A. Mendito, both of Utica. She was predeceased by her sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Mendito, Lucy and William Lease, and Catherine “Katie” Scire; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph Medici, Sam and Edna Medici, Frank and Delphina Medici, and Anthony and Carmella Medici. Rose’s family would like to give thanks to all of her friends at the Loretto Utica Center who gave Rose so much love and many hugs and kisses in her time of need. She loved you all so. Visitation will be held Saturday from 4:00-6:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Rose’s funeral Service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Saturday evening at 6:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Rev. John Buehler officiating. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
