Rose M. "Ro-Ro" "Rosie" Scire

UTICA – Rose “Ro-Ro” “Rosie” Scire passed away peacefully holding her “baby bear” and went to the arms of her loving sister Anna Marie and her mother Anna. Born in Utica, Rosie was one of six children of the late Vincent and Anna Scire. Rosie was a gentle and kind soul who would do anything for you. If you wanted her to babysit, cut peppers or mushrooms, cook, clean, or play cards, Rosie was there for you. She would never stay angry at you or hold any grudges, she just wanted to see you and love you. She would always smile when she saw you coming – and what a beautiful smile it was! It was a smile to match her loving heart. Rosie was the most loving soul there ever was. When you were with Rosie, you were guaranteed to have a good time. She would make you laugh and smile more than anyone. We will miss her jokes and the way she would say “Oh shat up!” or “Oh geez!” Rosie had a beautiful relationship with her sister Anna Marie and also with her God. Rosie put scapulars and rosaries in plastic bags that were passed out at every Family Rosary Crusade for forty years, including this past year. She now is reunited with her loving sister Anna Marie, who took care of her all her life. The two were inseparable in this life and will continue to be in the next. Rosie loved to knit and color in her coloring books, and she was very good at it. She enjoyed Alf and The Honeymooners and would always tell you “I’m going to send you to the moon!” She also loved to watch Columbo with her nephew David, and would say, “let’s watch the guy with the dirty raincoat.” She also enjoyed going to the casino to play the machines. She would love to collect her tickets! Rosie will be forever missed by those who were privileged to know her. We should thank Rosie because it were not for her birthday parties, our family would probably never have gotten together. To visit with Rosie was a treat unlike any other, as she gave you the gift of being innocent as a child and the joy of having fun with no worries. If you didn’t visit Rosie, you missed out on one of life’s greatest treasures. Rose is preceded by her loving sister Anna Marie whom she adored and loved so much; her brother Tom Scire and her sister Josephine “Jo-Jo” Scire; her parents Vincent and Anna; her brother-in-law Albert and nephew Albert, Jr.; and her dog Angel. She leaves behind her loving sister Mary Logalbo whom she loved so much; her niece Anita Vitullo, who made her laugh; her brother Louis, whom she enjoyed and loved; her nieces Phyllis and Barbara; her close friend David, who visited her always, played cards with her and she affectionately referred to him as “Fatso”; her best friend Sherrie, who visited her constantly and gave her so much joy. She loved her so much and they would refer to each other as “their Tweety Bird”, and they called each other on the phone every day. Her favorite singer and friend Scot Raymond, whom she adored. Scot treated her as royalty and she affectionately called him “her boyfriend”. She was his biggest fan! Her cat whom she called Pretty Kitty, whom she cherished; her honey bear Dominic, who she visited with every opportunity; and her loving nephew David, her “swee-swee”, who was her longtime caregiver and companion, and true best friend. She gave him all her love and attention. Not one day went by when they did not talk and visit each other. Rosie’s beautiful life should be a lesson to us all; while in her presence she gave you an umbrella to hold that would shield you during your time with her from any rain, trouble, and worries. That umbrella Rosie gave you was your protection while visiting her from all of life’s troubles and tribulations. For your time with her was filled with fun, love, and laughter always. We can never repay Rosie for that wonderful gift. Rosie, you did more for me in your lifetime than one thousand people could do in one thousand lifetimes. I will miss you forever. You were the absolute best. You deserve credit for being the funniest, the kindest, and the sincerest person that I ever knew. I love how we would behave around each other, just loving and laughing. I am so happy for you now that you are in the loving arms of your sister Anna Marie. Please know that I love you so much, my sweet Ro-Ro. Kiss my mother for me and I am going to give you ten kisses like I did every day. Count with me Ro and don’t forget the tenth kiss is going to be on your nose. I promise I will come and see you soon. Services and Interment in Calvary Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family.
