Rose Marie (DeFazio) Moraco

Mrs. Rose Marie (DeFazio) Moraco, age 82, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Katherine Luther Residential Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Pittston, Pennsylvania on December 28, 1931, Rose Marie was the daughter of the late Joseph and Angeline M. (Perry) DeFazio-Kinlock. She was raised and educated in Utica, a graduate of Utica Catholic Academy. At one time, she shared in a union with Francis P. “Frank” Moraco. In her earlier years, Rose Marie held a position with the General Electric Company. More recently, she was under the employ of Fleet Bank, the position from which she retired. Rose Marie was a charitable person and a caring neighbor, always accessible to lend a hand to others. She was a remarkable bowler and she took great delight in the game of golf. She had an affinity and affection for all nature’s array of animals. She was a parishioner of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Rose Marie is survived by her son, Gary Moraco and his friend Charlene of Sauquoit; her grandchildren, Andy and his wife Deana, April and Crystal Moraco and their mother Cindy Farrell and her husband Bob; and her great-grandchildren, Avina Lynn Moraco, and Andi Marie Moraco. She will also be remembered by her sisters and brother-in-law, Marion E. Morris, and Phyllis and Anthony “Red” Ricco, all of Utica; her brother and sister-in-law, Edward J. and Laura Kinlock of Syracuse; her niece, Nicole Kinlock; nephews and godsons Richard Morris, and John Paul Ricco; nephews Alex and his wife Megan Kinlock, Anthony and his wife Lucia Ricco, and Ross and his wife Mary Ricco; great-niece and great-nephew Sophia and Antonio Ricco; her special friend Frances Sconnes; and her neighbors Margie and Jackie and their families. The family will honor Rose Marie’s life in a private gathering. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Tuesday morning at 11:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the service. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
