Ronald W. "Ronnie" Risucci

Mr. Ronald W. “Ronnie” Risucci, age 77, of Deerfield, joined his beloved wife in Heaven when he passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 15, 2012 in the comfort and dignity of his home. Ronald was born in Utica on May 10, 1935, the son of the late Michael and Mary (Salerno) Risucci. Raised and educated in Utica, he was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. On January 24, 1959 he married the former Marion E. Waterman who passed away on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2009; the couple shared 50 loving years together as the light of each other’s eyes. At one time, Ronnie held a position as a manager of the Thruway Rest Areas but he most enjoyed his last position at Castronovo’s “Original” Grimaldi’s Restaurant working alongside his longtime friends, Fred and Jeanne. Ronnie was “one-in-a-million” and a blessing to those who knew him. He loved everyone and was passionate in every venture and endeavor. In his younger years, he played many sports, excelling at baseball. A music aficionado, he was a gifted pianist and held a tremendous love for the genre of Jazz. He will be remembered by his loved ones for his magnificent marinara sauce. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Ronnie is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Richard Montero; his brother, Arthur R. Risucci, Sr.; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, in-laws, Nancy Miller of FL, Janet and Gabe Fondario of Utica, Carol Ege of PA, Kathleen Waterman of FL, and Lois J. Waterman; dear friends Fred and Jeanne Castronovo and their children Gina (his godchild), Doreen, and Kristyn; as well as John Shaffer, Greg Starczewski and Deborah Bentley. He was predeceased by his sister, Antoinette Fulfaro; and his brothers, Michael Risucci, Nick Risucci, and Richard Risucci. In keeping with Ron’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Service and Celebration of Life which will be held on Friday afternoon at 1:00 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where his Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. James Cesta. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society or Spring Farm Cares Animal Sanctuary in deference to Ron’s love for animals; envelopes will be available at the service. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.
