Mr. Riley Daniels Jr.

UTICA - Mr. Riley Daniels, Jr., age 65, went home to the Lord on Thursday, September 5, 2019 when he passed away at The Pines at Utica Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing with those he loved most in his heart. Born in Albany on January 31, 1954, Riley was the son of the late Riley Daniels, Sr. and Jessie May Bickley. He was raised in the Albany area and attended local schools there. Riley shared 19 wonderful years in a relationship with Linda Ford. They were blessed with two children, one who preceded them. Riley and Linda knew good times and tough moments, but they got through it together because of love. Five days prior to his passing, on August 31, 2019, they were wed. He was elated that he had married Linda, and when he said it, he had the biggest smile on his face that was seen in a long time. Riley was employed by ATC Technology, and the State Office Building in the Janitorial Departments, and later at Upstate Cerebral Palsy as a Cook. Riley was a real jokester, always trying to make people laugh. His nickname was “Son”, and he was so well-known by that name, that many people did not know his real name. Son was a kind soul, but sometimes he was just as stubborn. He liked playing the Lottery, mainly Pick3 and Win4, and he loved naps. Cooking came easy to Riley, and his specialties were Southern food, fried chicken with collard greens, as well as Italian and Spanish cuisine. He was a member of Life Tabernacle Church and was inspired by the preaching that was presented. His son, Jessie filled his heart, although he loved each and every one of his children. In looking back, Riley appreciated life and all that came his way. Riley is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Jesse, Jawaun, Shareana Daniels, Dwayne and his wife Katina, Tasha, and Angelica Rowland. His son, Ondrell, preceded him. He also leaves hosts of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sheila and Marshall Womack. His sister Diane Daniels also preceded him. He leaves a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Adrienne Daniels and a sister Carolyn Daniels. He will be remembered by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, especially Edward with whom he shared a closeness; his mother-in-law, Christine Blair; and his in-laws, Richard and Sharon Enos, Virginia and Jouse Gonzales, Robert Jr. and Lisa Blair, Earl Blair, Sr. and fiancée Kimberly Lawrence, and Betty and Michael Phillips. He was predeceased by his sisters-in-law, Linda Kahler, and Margaret Ellwood. The family extends their gratitude to Alexis from the 3rd Floor at MVHS at St. Elizabeth Medical Center who was very concerned and compassionate in caring for Riley; and Pastor Andy Traub and his wife Angela for their prayers and love. Visitation will be held Friday from 10:00-12:00 noon at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Riley’s Home Going celebration will commence on Friday at 12 Noon immediately upon conclusion of visitation. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
