Mr. Remo "Ray" Pardi

Mr. Remo “Ray” Pardi, age 85, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born in Utica on November 3, 1927, Remo was the son of the late Angelo and Orsolina (Landucci) Pardi. Raised and educated locally, he attended TR Proctor High School. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Ray honorably served his country stateside as a mechanic. At one time, he was employed by the New York Central Rail Road. A loving uncle to his nieces and nephews, Ray held a great love and devotion for his family. He also enjoyed a special closeness with his siblings and will be remembered fondly by all his loved ones. The holidays were special to him and he appreciated the Italian traditions and festive foods shared during the seasons. Ray had a passion for gardening and growing a variety of plants and flowers. He had a broad knowledge of all phases of horseracing and enjoyed the camaraderie of his friends and time spent with them at the Off-Track Betting (OTB) handicapping the horses. Ray is survived by his sister, Rose Chambrone of New Hartford. The family is also embracing the loss of his sister, Eda M. Scotellaro who passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2013. Also left to honor his memory are his brother-in-law, John J. Scotellaro; his nieces and nephews, Ursula M. and David M. Cerminaro Sr., Mary Lou Allard and Scott Anderson, Emil and Sue Chambrone, Angelo and Sue Chambrone, John Pardi Jr., Paul Pardi, Debbie Sharp, and Karen Marchiny; his great-nieces and great-nephews including David Cerminaro Jr., Renee and Piero Ippoliti, Melinda and Joseph Clark; Christopher Allard; Anna, Hope, and Bobby Chambrone; Connor, and Erin Chambrone; his special great-great-nieces, Cecilia and Giovanna; cousins; sister-in-law, Evelyn Pardi; and thoughtful neighbor, Cosmo Colluccio. He was predeceased by two brothers, John J. Pardi, and infant Albert Pardi; his sister, Angela DiGiglio-Gadieko; and brother-in-law, Emil Chambrone, Jr. Special appreciation is offered to the physicians and staff of the St. Elizabeth Medical Center Emergency Medicine Department and the Intensive Care Unit for their genuine care and compassion. Relatives and friends may pay their respects to the family of Ray as well as Eda on Monday from 5-7 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Their funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Tuesday at 9:30 from the funeral home and at 10:30 at St Anthony and St. Agnes Church where their Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Mark Kaminski with military honors conferred honoring Ray’s time of service to our country. Interment will take place in the family plot in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
