Reina Luz Prestol

Reina Luz Prestol, age 11 months, went to her heavenly home on Angels’ wings as she passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital in the arms of her loving family. Born at the Birthplace at St. Luke’s Hospital on April 16, 2014, Reina was the daughter of Rafael R. Prestol, Jr. and Jasmin Ramon-Prestol. Reina was born with a milk protein allergy and although her parents, family, and physicians did all they could to ensure her health, happiness, and safety, she now rests in the arms of the Lord welcomed by her family who has gone before her. During her short time on earth, Reina knew the unconditional love of her parents and she was her mother’s angel. Her name translated to “queen of light” and she reigned in the light of love of all who were a part of her life. She was showered with love by all her family, especially her mom. In return, her energy and smile warmed the hearts of everyone. TV time was a special time that Reina shared with Mickey Mouse and Mommy. She also had a special bond with her siblings. JJ and Reina shared a close sisterhood connection and they could not be separated. And Raymond in his role of big brother protected her and made her giggle. Reina was radiant with love and innocence. Reina is survived by her mother and father, Jasmin and Rafael; her sister, Jazzalyn “JJ”; her brother, Raymond Ramos; her maternal grandfather, Carlos Ramos; paternal grandfather, Rafael R. Prestol, Sr.; aunts and uncles, Carlos D. and Anne Marie Couvertier, Orlando Couvertier, Jovane Couvertier and Renee Pezzulo, David Agront, Nilsa Ramos, and David Ramos; great aunts and uncles, Clara and Misael, Nilsa and Jose, Maria, Luzgarda, Anna, Jackie, Luis, Manuel, Carmelo, Bienvenido, Jorge, and Sandra; many cousins, Demetrius, Thalya, Carlos, Jonjai, Gabriel, Jovane Jr., and Ethan. She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Carmen L. Couvertier; and her aunt, Carmen Iris Couvertier. Visitation will be held Saturday from 3:00-4:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Reina’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Rev. Neilson Torres officiating the ceremony. Interment will take place in Forest Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
