Regina M. "Gina" (Fusco) Delaney

Mrs. Regina M. “Gina” (Fusco) Delaney, age 53, a native Utican and currently a resident of Chittenango, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 15, 2011. Her passing occurred in the comfort of her home with the support and care of her husband, Dave by her side. Born in Utica on March 19, 1957, Gina is the daughter of Anthony “Tony” and Mary R. (Lombardo) Fusco. Raised and educated locally she was a 1975 graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. On July 15, 1994 she married David J. Delaney with whom she shared an inner connection that was their bond to a meaningful marriage. Gina was employed as the office and property manager at Alan-Patrick Builders for 10 years. But it was her home that was her source of pleasure and comfort. With her artistic nature, she had a knack for entertaining and decorating, and hosted many gatherings on the backyard deck of her home. She took time to enjoy life’s pleasures which included RVing with her husband. Gina was blessed with the admirable qualities of optimism and perseverance which motivated her to be a true warrior. Her outgoing personality won her the admiration of many friendships, and her family fabric was woven with concern, patience, affection and respect for the people she loved. She had a warm place in her heart for her dog “Riley”. She prayed to St. Anthony with a great adoration, and her home parish was St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church. Gina is survived by her husband, David; her parents who she adored, Tony and Mary; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Angela and William “Bill” Meola of Utica, and Patricia “Patty” and Daniel Sanders of Rome. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, with whom she shared a very close bond; great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Phyllis Delaney; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and the cherished friends she made during her lifetime. Gina was blessed to be able to remain at home with the devoted care of her husband David, her mother-in-law, her sister-in-law, Eileene Dillman, and her nephew, Andrew Dillman, as well as a host of family and friends including Donna Redmond and Diane Piazza. Thanks also to Fr. Abe Esper for his spiritual guidance and prayers. Gina’s family honored her at a private time. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Regina’s funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Friday afternoon at 1:00 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Rev. Anthony P. LaFache. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
