Mr. Raymond P. Hanson

Mr. Raymond P. Hanson, age 36, found peace in eternity when he left this world. Born in New Hartford on April 26, 1984, Raymond was the son of Raymond M. and Margaret “Avie” (Sarus) Hanson. He was a graduate of Frankfort Schuyler High School. He shared a close relationship with Jaclyn Elthorp who was with him from past to present, through thick and thin. Raymond worked as a Funeral Associate and devoted staff member at the Eannace Funeral Home. He was also employed at Oriskany Manufacturing as a brazer. With a natural flair for cooking, he learned the finer points of food preparation and presentation from his mom, and over the years, he held positions at several pizzerias. Raymond had so much potential. He and his dad shared in sporting activities, including golfing, fishing, and baseball. He was a fan of the Carolina Panthers football team. At family gatherings, he was always at the grill, and he prepared holiday meals. He was so happy when everyone was together. It was nothing for him to get his sister and her friends to return to the house after an evening out, and to their surprise, he had cooked up a full-blown smorgasbord for them! Raymond had obstacles that presented themselves in his life, he always had love in his heart for his family. He was a good soul. Raymond is survived by his devoted parents, Ray and Avie; his sister who was his best friend to the end, Jessica L. Hanson and fiancée Erika DiNatale; and his babe, Jackie and her son Dakota who really loved Ray. He also leaves many aunts and uncles; numerous cousins; and his puggle “Chooch”. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Abu and Anyu (Gross) Sarus; paternal grandparents, Raymond F. “Ray” and Amelia “Amy” (Longo) Hanson; uncles, Ronald Hanson, Jeffrey S. Hanson, and Sandor Sarus; and his aunt, Mary Hajdasz. Visitation will be held Monday from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Social distancing and registration for contact tracing will be implemented. Also, a mask covering your nose and mouth will be required.
