Mrs. Philomena D. "Phyllis" (Clerrico) Colacicco

UTICA - Mrs. Philomena D. “Phyllis” (Clerrico) Colacicco, age 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Born in Utica on December 12, 1927, Philomena was the daughter of the late Salvatore “Sam” and Rose (Graziano) Clerrico. Raised and educated in Utica, Phyllis was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. Following graduation, she furthered her studies training as a Dental Hygienist and earned her credentials for a future career. On May 23, 1953, she married Michael J. “Mike” Colacicco with whom she shared a wonderful life for 58 years, united in their hearts, hopes, and dreams, prior to his passing on November 28, 2011. Phyllis held employment as a Dental Hygienist for various local dental offices throughout the years. A gracious matriarch, she provided tender, loving, care and support as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. The family was always at the center of her heart, and tending to them was a labor of love. She held dear the many beautiful family memories that blessed her throughout the years. A woman of simple pleasures, Phyllis was fond of cooking and baking, especially when relatives were welcomed at Christmas. She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and gathering with her girlfriends for lunch. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John, and a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Phyllis is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Carl Scaparo, and Elaine and Frank Jastremski; son, Michael Colacicco; grandchildren, Krystin and Zack Sechrest, Don Baranowski; Nicole and Michael West, and Jason Jastremski and Rebecca Delaney; and her great-grandchildren, Trae Sechrest, and Aubrey Sechrest. She also leaves her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Rosemary J. Gatto. The family sends special thanks to Phyllis’ granddaughter Nicole and her husband Michael who, for the past 10 years, shared a home with her grandma, offering her loving care and meeting all her needs. This benevolence brought Phyllis great comfort, solace, and security in a home graced with love that spanned generations. The family honored and commemorated Philomena’s life at a private time. Funeral services and Interment in Calvary Cemetery will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.
