Mr. Paul A. Migliaccio

UTICA – Mr. Paul A. Migliaccio, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 3, 2024, in the dignity of his home. Born in Utica on September 9, 1952, Paul was the son of the late Louis A. and Muriel A. (Rettman) Migliaccio. Paul received his Associate of Applied Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from SUNY Morrisville, a Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational-Technical Education from SUNY Oswego, and a Master of Science degree in Technical Education from SUNY IT. He went on to obtain a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration and Supervision from SUNY Cortland and another Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from SUNY IT. At one time, Paul was employed by the Xerox Corporation as an Engineering Aide. He then worked as a Vocational Trades Instructor with Herkimer County B.O.C.E.S. Later, Paul went on to work for Mohawk Valley Community College for 25 years. He started out as an Adjunct Instructor, advancing through the ranks to Professor of Engineering Technologies, the position from which he retired. Paul was a social, friendly, and easy-going individual. He was a reliable friend who was thoughtful and generous to others. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed anything having to do with the outdoors. He was also as an expert marksman for which he earned many awards. As a hobbyist and collector, he was educated and well researched in all his endeavors. Each spring and summer, he took delight in tending to his garden, reflecting his green thumb. He also took great pride in caring for the family home and was the long-term caregiver of his parents, Louis and Muriel. In his spare time, Paul had appreciation for Sc-Fi and carried on his childhood collection of model trains. He also belonged to many social and outdoor organizations where he met new people and made many friends. Paul was blessed with a loving union of 5 years with Roxanne Marie "Jewel" (Hubbard) Robey. They enjoyed their time together and ventured on many day trips, especially to Old Forge and area attractions. Paul and Roxanne shared a very special bond and a reciprocal love for each other. Paul cherished her smile and Roxanne appreciated his ability to respect her, love her, and make her happy. Roxanne passed away on September 9, 2012. He is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, David A. and Ruth Migliaccio, John A. and Donna Migliaccio, James A. and Sharon Migliaccio, and Mark A. Migliaccio; nieces and nephews, Jillian Migliaccio, Quinn Migliaccio, Joerg Elbert and his wife Nicky, and Katje Elbert-Avila and her husband Oscar and their families; and many cousins. Paul was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Thomas and Antoinette (Tadesco) Migliaccio; maternal grandparents, George W. and Mabel (Karstensen) Rettman; and aunts and uncles, Anthony and Clara Migliaccio, and Mary and Chuck Gocek. A Memorial Gathering in Paul’s honor will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Paul’s Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will commence at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of floral offerings, memorial contributions in Paul's honor may be made to the Utica Food Pantry online at https://uticafoodpantry.org/donate/, or to the Utica Rescue Mission online at https://uticamission.org/donate/; envelopes will also be available at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place in Christ Our Savior Mausoleum at Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
