Patricia F. (Nester) Ciccone

Mrs. Patricia F. (Nester) Ciccone, age 79, of Utica, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2008 at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center with her loving family by her side. Born in Flint, Michigan on October 5, 1928, Patricia was the daughter of the late Horace “Hod” and Frances (Mielnik) Nester. She was raised and educated in Utica and attended St. Francis DeSales High School. On February 18, 1947 she married Marshall H. Ciccone with whom she shared a blessed union of 60 years. Patricia was a kind-hearted woman endeared to everyone who knew her. Her family was the spark of her life, especially her children, and they brought much joy to her. She instilled in them the values of perseverance and faith in fulfilling their goals in life. Cooking was her favorite pastime, but sewing was her passion. She fashioned many beautiful garments for her family and friends and will be most remembered for the Infant of Prague outfits she created. During her younger years, she enjoyed swimming and she also coached the St. Anthony minor league baseball team. She was devoted to her Catholic faith and offered prayers for all her loved ones and friends. She was a parishioner of St. Agnes Church. Patricia is survived by her husband, Marshall; her daughters, Sharon A. Boehlert and her companion, Gary Sutch, of Utica, and Roxanne L. Ciccone of Micanopy, FL; her son and daughter-in-law, Marshall J. and Joan Ciccone of Syracuse; her grandchildren, Rhonda, Heather, Trevor, Megan, Donald, and Jared; and her great-grandchildren, Dominick Marshall, Ellie Grace, Hatie Catherine, and Ava. Survivors also include her brother and sister-in-law, John and Judy Nester of NH; her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and sisters-in-law, Amelia Graziano of Utica, and Clara DePaul of CA. She also leaves behind many dear and cherished friends, too numerous to mention. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Louise Grenafage; her nephew, Anthony J. Ciccone; and her in-laws, Henry M. and Marian Ciccone, and Bernadette and Gennaro D’Onofrio. The family offers sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center for the respect and care offered to Patricia. Visitation will be held Thursday (today) from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Patricia’s funeral service will commence on Friday morning at 10:00 from the funeral home and at 11:00 at St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
