Patricia A. "Patti" (Tresoline) Vita

Mrs. Patricia A. "Patti" (Tresoline) Vita, age 45, of Deerfield, passed away after a valiant battle on Friday, May 1, 2009 at the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center. Patti's passing into heaven was supported by the love and devotion of her family. Born in Utica on April 23, 1964, Patricia was the daughter of the late Patsy J., Sr. and Beatrice (DeFazio) Tresoline. Raised and educated locally, she was a 1982 graduate of T. R. Proctor High School. The highlights of her work career included her position as secretary to the Public Safety Commissioner, Philip Arcuri, Sr., and her work as a phlebotomist with Centrex Laboratories. It was on August 29, 1998 that Patti married Dominick S. Vita with whom she shared in the promise of love and devotion and the joys of parenting. Patti’s heart and soul were dedicated to caring not only for her own children, but also providing daycare for others, which was a fulfilling part of her life and something she truly enjoyed. As a devoted wife and mother, she was fun-loving, thoughtful, and inspirational. It was the blessing of children that completed her life, and she was selfless in her devotion to her “little angels”. She also took great comfort in “cuddletime” while watching Nickelodeon with them. Patti’s untimely passing during the month of May is especially meaningful since it is the month that honors the Blessed Mother and celebrates Mother’s Day. Patti was blessed with two beautiful little souls who she loved and protected here on earth --- and she will forever watch over them and love them from her heavenly home above. Patti appreciated family times and the excitement of the children, especially during the holidays and get-togethers. She also shared in a closeness with her sisters, who enriched her life. She had a great knack for the festivities of the holidays, gatherings, and celebrations; nothing made her happier than to decorate for a birthday, when she expressed so much enthusiasm and personal touches that made the occasions so memorable. Patti’s heart also held a love for her dogs who were great companions, and she treated ‘Sonny Bono’ and ‘Bella’ with royalty. She also enjoyed following her soap operas and volunteering her time to assist in student activities at St. Peter’s School where her son Dominick attended. Patti is survived by her husband, Dominick; her son, Dominick Pasquale Vita; her daughter, Gianna M. Vita; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Lena and Larry Smith of Marcy, and Valerie and Rich Simpson of Utica; and her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Christine Tresoline of Utica. Patti’s life was changed by the death of her brother, Patsy J. “Biggs” Tresoline, Jr., who passed away on May 16, 2004, and she always kept him close to her heart. Survivors also include her mother-in-law, Rose Vita of Utica and her father-in-law, Frank Vita, Sr. of Liverpool; her nieces and nephews, Robbie and Shannon Apel and her children, Summer and Mark, Michael Apel, David Smith, Ryan Smith, Kevin Smith, Little Richie Simpson, Kara Tresoline, Joey Tresoline, Patsy Tresoline III, Nicholas Tresoline, Matthew Tresoline, Franca Vita, and twins Matthew and Jessica Vita; a great-niece, Dionna; her aunts, Dora DeFazio, and Catherine Putruele and her family; her cousins; her sister-in-law, Dina Kaczynski and her husband Dan; brothers-in-law, Frank Vita, Jr., and Anthony Vita; and her special girlfriends of many years. The family is grateful to Dr. Gary Neale, Dr. Alicia DeTraglia, and Dr.Atul Butala- who was a perfect match of a physician during the time of Patti’s illness; he offered her hope, compassion, and encouragement. The sincere affection of Annie Flagg and the nurses at the Regional Cancer Center, was appreciated. Patti and her husband Dominick had a difficult journey made more bearable by the devotion of her sisters, Lena and Valerie, who humbly and devotedly honored her wishes. Patti searched for hope and was sound in her faith through the blessings of Rev. Amedeo Guida for offering Mass at her home, Rev. John Rose, Deacon Bill Dischiavo, Msgr. Kantor, and area clergy who remembered the needs of this family in prayer. A gracious thank you is offered to the many special friends who assisted with sincere concern, support, and endless dedication. Visitation will be held Monday (today) from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. For those wishing to do so, please consider memorial contributions in Patti’s honor to the family, enabling them to establish an education fund for her children; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Patti's funeral service which will commence on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial and Celebration of Life will be celebrated. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery alongside her family at their convenience.
