Patricia A. "Pat" (Comito) Orsaio

Mrs. Patricia A. “Pat” (Comito) Orsaio, age 73, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center. Born in Utica on March 5, 1935, Patricia was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Alito) Comito. Upon Joseph’s passing, Pat’s mom entered a second union of marriage with Frank Liuzzi who was a second father to Pat. Raised and educated locally, she was a 1953 graduate of T. R. Proctor High School. On June 23, 1956 Pat married Anthony J. Orsaio and as true soul mates they shared a loving union of 52 years. At one time, Pat worked as a billing clerk for Gorea and M & M Trucking Companies. She was last employed as a clerk with the Utica Corporation and their Employee Federal Credit Union (EFCU) for many years until her retirement in 1995. Pat was a socially outgoing and selfless individual who offered her help and comfort to anyone who needed her. She was devoted to her family and her role as a “Nana” to her grandchildren and many others, which was a blessing that fulfilled her life. True to her nurturing nature, Pat offered her time as a literacy volunteer, assisting elementary school students to further their reading abilities. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and a member of the Assumption Society and the Christian Women’s Society of St. Anthony’s. Pat is survived by her husband, Anthony; her daughters and sons-in-law, Lynnette and John Sorbello of Oneida, and Lorri Rose and John Edicola of Rochester; her son, Anthony D. Orsaio of Utica; and her grandchildren, Jill Ann Gisondo, Jon Edicola, Justin Edicola, and Katherine Rose Orsaio. Survivors also include her sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara and David Kearney of Syracuse, and Lucille Kuznia of Utica; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Louis and Esther Comito of Utica, Raymond and Lorraine Liuzzi of Whitesboro, Peter Liuzzi of Utica, and Frank Liuzzi of Rochester; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Arthur DelMedico of Sauquoit, John and Mary Orsaio, and Elizabeth Yozzo, all of Utica, and Mary Lourdes (Comito) Chiffy and her husband, Frank. Pat also leaves her dear friends, Arline Reilly, Gladys and Dick Slesinski, Lillian Selden, and Jeanne Castelli. She was predeceased by her sisters and brother-in-law, Katherine DelMedico, and Helen and Lawrence O’Brien; her brother, Joseph Comito; and her in-laws, Frederick Yozzo, Pasquale and Sally Orsaeo, Alice Liuzzi, Stanley J. Kuznia, and Dolores Liuzzi. The family is grateful to the nurses and staff of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center for their care and attention. In keeping with Pat’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Memorial service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Monday morning at 10:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave.
