Mrs. Pamela J. (Sherry) Abraham

Mrs. Pamela J. “Pam” (Sherry) Abraham, age 48, of Utica, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010 in the privacy of her home. Born in Elmhurst, NY on March 19, 1962, Pamela is the daughter of Thomas and Joan (Castaldo) Sherry. She was raised and educated in Ogdensburg. She continued her education at Postdam College where she earned her Masters degree, and at SUNY Canton where she received her Associate’s degree in elementary and special education. On May 5, 2007, Pam married her best friend, Dion Abraham; the couple shared a sense of joy and fulfillment in their marriage. Pam worked for APAC as a customer service representative and also held a job at Burger King in North Utica. Pam’s life was about giving, caring, and keeping track of important dates and times in the lives of her loved ones. She was blessed with the ability to listen, comfort, and uplift friends and family, and she always kept her promises. Her hobbies included needlepoint, reading, watching Rachel Ray, and Dr. Oz, and collecting Precious Moments figurines. Pam is survived by her husband, Dion; her son, David Jonathan “D.J.” Sherry; her parents, Thomas and Joan Sherry of Ogdensburg; and her mother-in-law, Donna Abraham of Utica. Survivors also include her sisters and brother-in-law, Donna Sherry-Cervantes of Albany, and Patricia and Raymond Kelly of Renssellaer Falls; her brothers and sister-in-law, Stephen Sherry of Ogdensburg, Martin and MaryAnn Sherry of NC, Thomas Sherry of PA, and Daniel Sherry of NC; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws, Cecilia Abraham, David Abraham, and George Abraham. She will be missed by her dear friends, Jill Sylvester, Christie Whitford, Jane (from Ilion), Dan and Faye Janzti, and Donna Williams. The family is grateful to the Utica Police Department and the Utica Fire Rescue team for their timely response and valiant efforts. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:00 noon – 2:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. 932 South St. corner of Hammond Ave. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Pam’s Celebration of Life which will commence on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation.
