Norman J. Farr

Mr. Norman J. Farr, age 56, of Utica, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2012, at the University of Rochester Medical Center, after a brief illness. Born in Utica on November 7, 1955, Norman was the son of Arlene Lefancheck and the late Arthur Lefancheck, Sr. He was raised and educated locally. On August 11, 1999 he married the former Catherine A. Longo with whom he shared a loving union. Norman was caring by nature. He enjoyed conversations, especially with Catherine’s children who he loved as his own. He was industrious and manually dexterous and was great at fixing small engines. He enjoyed the mental and tactile challenge of tinkering and was always happy when the problems got solved! When able, he would teach the kids the techniques of assembling model rockets and the basics of electrical components. He also had a flair for fixing scanners and learning of the days’ activities while listening to them. Norman was most happy when he was close to nature, fishing and camping. Norman is survived by his wife, Catherine; his mother, Arlene Lefancheck; and his children, Nancy Farr of VA, Audra Pullman of Earlville, Tony Pullman, and Kyle Pullman, both of Utica. He also leaves his sister, Nancy Lefancheck of WA; his brothers, Joe Farr of Rome, David Lefancheck of CA, and Arthur Lefancheck, Jr. of Utica; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, father-in-law John D. Longo, in-laws Donna Lee and Joseph Rivett of Frankfort, Salvatore and Kathy Longo of Utica, Ronald and Tammy Longo of New Hartford, Michael and Elaine Longo, and John Jr. and Nancy Longo, all of Frankfort; and family friend, Gary Miner. He was predeceased by his father, Arthur Lefancheck, Sr.; brother, Jimmy Lefancheck; mother-in-law, Mary Longo; and brothers-in-law, Rocco John “Rocky” Longo, Anthony F. “Butch” Longo, and Daniel Longo. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00-2:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South Street, corner of Hammond Ave. The family graciously welcomes floral arrangements. Norman’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Msgr. Francis Willenburg officiating. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
