Molly M. (Carparelli) Notaro

Mrs. Molly M. (Carparelli) Notaro, age 85, of Utica, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2009, in the privacy of her home with her family by her side. Born in Utica on January 16, 1923, Molly was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Louise (Dell’Aquila) Carparelli. She was raised in Utica and attended local schools. On November 15, 1945 she wed Peter L. Notaro who passed away in 1973; Molly and Peter were equally devoted to each other during their 28-year marriage. Molly rendered 61 years of dependable service to her family concern, Carparelli Brothers, located in New Hartford. She held the position of secretary treasurer of the corporation, and loyally oversaw the financial concerns of the business, until her retirement in the year 2000. Blessed with a spirited, vivacious nature and a cheerful character, she knew how to enjoy life. A generous soul, she was affectionately known as “Aunt Molly” to many, and was appreciated and respected for her kind and thoughtful ways. With her family first and foremost, she considered her nieces, nephews, and their families as her own, and her life served as an inspiration to them. She was able to bring her loved ones together while she listened objectively and offered support when it was needed. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she enjoyed gathering at the table and sharing her special presents. She had a knack for shopping and selected just the right gifts for her loved ones. Also, during the years, her canine companions played an important role as loyal friends for life. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Molly is survived by her sister-in-law, Frances J. Carparelli of Clinton; her nieces and nephews who truly loved “Aunt Molly”, Nicholas F. and Carol Carparelli, Judy and Hank Coppola, Joseph and Joanne Cardarelli, Don and Debra Cardarelli, Diane E. Hill, Louise Carparelli, and Raymond and Barbara Carparelli; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Karen and Don Wilson, Christine Coppola, Joseph Cardarelli, Jeffrey Cardarelli, Donna Cardarelli and her husband Bair Manzarkhanov, Thomas Cardarelli, Rose Cardarelli and fiancé Corey Pierno, Matthew, Billy, Marisa, Caitlin, Ashley, and Raymond; and her adored great, great, grand-nieces, Marianne Coppola, and Jessica Wilson. Molly also leaves her special friends and caring neighbors, Ann and Jim Doti. She was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Mary Louise and Joseph A. Cardarelli; her brothers and sister-in-law, Peter J. “Pete” Carparelli, Raymond John and Gia Carparelli, and Daniel M. and Lucy Carparelli; and her late husband’s family. She cherished in her heart the memory of her great-nephew, Jay Paul Rocco. The family extends sincere appreciation to Dr. Paula Vecchio and her nurse Sue for their outstanding professional and compassionate care. Molly was able to maintain her dignity and fulfill her wish to remain in her home through the wonderful and loving care provided by Liz, Sue, Diane, and Cindy. The family will remain grateful for their dedication. Visitation will be held Thursday from 4:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc. 932 South St. corner of Hammond Ave. By family request, please omit floral offerings. Molly’s funeral service will commence on Friday morning at 9:30 from the funeral home and at 10:30 at St. Anthony of Padua Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
