Mitchell B. "Mike" Neupert

Mr. Mitchell B. “Mike” Neupert, age 63, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with his loving family by his side. Mitchell was born in Lysander, NY on March 16, 1950, where he was raised and educated. A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army, Mike honorably served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. On Christmas Eve in 2012 he wed the former Earlene Julian, a union of two souls who shared love and common aspirations in an atmosphere of accord. Their marriage was brief but beautiful. Mike’s working career revolved around service to his country in the military, and he held various part-time positions upon completion of his tour of duty. Mike had a heart of gold and felt happy and privileged to have a conversation with anyone he met. He loved to gather with his family and friends and share in their good company. Mike had a lot of love in his heart which he expressed to his family and friends through his good deeds and kindness. A car enthusiast, he appreciated antique cars rather than modern ones. He also loved to camp with his motor home, particularly at places where he was able to experience the serenity and tranquility of New York State. He was also an avid NY Yankees fan. He enjoyed watching western movies, chiefly those starring the duke, John Wayne. Mike is survived by his wife, Earlene; several children including his daughter Rebecca Neupert-Cheney and her husband, Michael of St. Johnsville; his extended family, including Earlena and Roger Rood of Ilion, Denise and David Anguzza of W. Winfield, Donald and Faith Burke of W. Winfield, Bruce Burke of Hinkley, Douglas Stoddard and companion Judi Ciccolella of Utica, David Stoddard Jr. and Colleen Martin of Sauquoit. He also leaves his siblings including his sister Evelyn and Paul Loonis; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and close friend and neighbor, Dana Wallace. He will be missed by his loving feline and canine companions. He was predeceased by his parents. Grateful appreciation is extended to the First Responders and the Emergency Room staff of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center for their professionalism and care rendered to Mike and his family. Visitation will be held Monday from 5:30-6:30 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Expressions of sympathy in the form of donations may be made to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society in lieu of floral offerings; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Visitation will conclude with a special Blessing, Prayer service, and military honors.
