Mr. Michael A. Guarno Jr.

Mr. Michael A. Guarno, Jr., age 53, of Utica, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center with his loving family by his side. Born in Utica on November 10, 1963, Michael was the son of Michael A. Guarno, Sr. and the late Colette (Hazeltine) Guarno. He was raised and educated locally. A proud veteran, Michael honorably served his country for 6 years in the United States Army National Guard from 1983-1989. On February 4, 2012 he married the former Bonnie L. Piccirillo with whom he shared a loving relationship. Michael was employed in the food service industry, most notably at Granny’s Kitchen, for over 16 years. A gentle soul, Michael was a very caring and proud family man who was always there for his loved ones. He held a special bond with his nieces and nephews, especially D.J. He loved traveling, fishing, and listening to his music which included a wide range of interests from Blues ballads to Country tunes. He was also his son’s biggest fan, attending all of his shows. Because he loved to cook, he was well-prepared to please everyone’s palate and shared his delicacies with his family. A faith-filled man, Michael respected all faiths and attended Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Whitesboro. Michael is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his son, Brian Lucenti and companion Ilana Kall (whom he adored as a daughter) of North Utica and Brian’s mom, Geri Lucenti, Jr. of Deerfield who shared a friendship and mutual love for their son; his father, Michael A. Guarno, Sr. and his wife Bonnie L. Guarno. He also leaves his sister and brother-in-law, Tonya and Mike Cordo of Utica; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell D. and Angel Guarno of North Utica, Philip B. Guarno and Anita Samarco of New Hartford, Anthony Carcone of Utica, and Philip and Sheila Carcone of Poland; his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, in-laws, many cherished aunts and uncles; members of the Lucenti family whom he always considered his own; and his goddaughter Daela Ann Zulla who held a special place in his heart. Visitation will be held on Saturday afternoon from 3:00-4:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Michael's funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Saturday at 4:00 at the funeral home immediately upon conclusion of visitation with Minister Daniel Pearson, Sr. officiating the ceremony.
