MaryRose Attili

CLARK MILLS - MaryRose Attili, age 65, went home to the Lord on Thursday, December 7, 2017 when she passed away unexpectedly at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center surrounded by her devoted family. Born in Utica on June 4, 1952, MaryRose was the daughter of the late Jerry A., Sr. and Lena (Morgia) Attili. She was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School/Class of 1972. MaryRose was employed by the Presbyterian Home of Central NY in the Food and Nutrition Department and was recognized for her outstanding food preparation. It was at this work place over 40 years ago that she met Kathy Glenn; they became best of friends and shared a life and a home together. They complemented one another’s personalities and were constant companions... Kathy will surely miss her Mary. Selfless and kind, MaryRose never spoke disparagingly of others. She was gentle, soft-spoken, and loved to laugh. She found joy in planting flowers about her home that would flourish under the guidance of her green thumb. MaryRose loved the excitement of Christmas. She was blessed with a great childhood and carried on the traditions of her family, especially the decorations on the tree. She was a good cook and baker, always stirring up special treats for her loved ones to enjoy. Her pastimes included Bingo, the racino at Vernon Downs, board and card games. She volunteered at the Gift Shop at the Presbyterian Home after her retirement and was presented the Volunteer of the Year award for her dedication. Above all, she loved her siblings, nieces and nephews, and the next generation. They all have precious memories of the countless charitable and thoughtful things she did for them out of love. MaryRose is survived by her best friend, Kathy; her beloved siblings and their loves, Jerry A. Attili Jr., Linda and Hank Healy, Lucy and Guy Viti Jr., JoAnn Attili, Jeana and Ray DiFondi, and Michele and Tom Vanno. She will also remain in the hearts of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews of the Attili and Glenn families; cousins, several beloved aunts and uncles; members of Kathy’s family; and many friends she met along the way. She was predeceased by her niece, Jaclyn Viti. The Attili family wants Kathy to know how grateful they are to her for sharing her life with MaryRose and being an outstanding care giver. A special thank you to Dr. Scott Brehaut for his professional guidance and personal interest in Mary’s wellbeing. The timely response of the COCVAC volunteer staff and the compassionate personnel of the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center ER staff were truly a blessing to the graced last moments of MaryRose’s life. A special note of appreciation to Rev. Kevin Bunger for his prayers and his anointing of her spirit. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. MaryRose’s funeral service and Celebration of Life will commence on Thursday morning at 9:30 from the funeral home and at 10:30 at St. Anthony & St. Agnes Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered. Committal prayers will be offered at Calvary cemetery.
