MaryLourdes "Kim" (Gentile) Costello

Mrs. MaryLourdes “Kim” (Gentile) Costello, age 50, of Utica, passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center. Born in Utica on January 23, 1956, MaryLourdes was the daughter of the late Albert C. and Frances S. (DeNigro) Gentile. She was raised and educated locally. On July 13, 1974 she married Frank J. Costello with whom she has shared a loving and devoted union of 31 years, during which time they have always been “best friends” to one another. Ever a dedicated homemaker, MaryLourdes was gifted with qualities that made her a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. She possessed a steadfast loyalty to her loved ones and was a devoted friend to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Complementing her exceptional qualities of character, she also had a radiant smile that lit up a room. She and her husband loved to spend the winters at their son’s home in Florida. She also enjoyed camping at Oneida Lake. One of her favorite pastimes was ceramics, a craft in which she was highly skilled. She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church. Mrs. Costello is survived by her husband, Frank; her daughter, Cheryl Costello of Utica; her son, Brian J. Costello of Sanford FL; and her grandchildren, Amanda Costello, Ariana Costello, and Caley Costello. Her survivors also include two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne A. and Sylvia Gentile of New Hartford, and Anthony and Phyliss Gentile of Deerfield; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; and her in-laws, Violet and Pasquale LaGatta of FL, Peter Costello of Liverpool, John B. Costello of Frankfort and his friend Tracy Jones, James and Margaret Costello of Utica, Maria and Steve Clark of Ft. Lauderdale FL, and Patricia Gentile of Deerfield. She was predeceased by her sisters, Madelyn Carol “Snookie” Gentile, and Darlene Ann Gentile; her brother, Carl Gentile; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank J. and Rose (Ciccarelli) Costello; a special aunt, Irlean Ciccarelli; and her very close and dear friend, Evelyn LeGault. The family offers its sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of 3E of the Allen Calder Wing at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center for the care and attention with which they attended MaryLourdes. Visitation will be held (today) Sunday from 2-4 at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. Mrs. Costello’s funeral will commence on Monday morning at 8:00 from the funeral home and at 9:00 at St. Anthony of Padua Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Entombment will take place in Florida at the convenience of the family.
