Mary M. (Monopoli) Pacitto

Mary M. (Monopoli) Pacitto, age 86, of Utica, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Presbyterian Home for CNY with the love and support of her family. Born in Utica on May 27, 1926, Mary was the daughter of the late Alfred and Antoinette (Dell’Anno) Monopoli. She was raised and educated locally. At one time, she was married to Joseph Pacitto who passed away in October 1999. During her working life, Mary was employed as a secretary at the Municipal Housing Authority and the Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI) for many years. Hard-working and independent, Mary had an inner glow, a meticulous style, a smiling face, and helpful ways. She looked forward to her monthly gatherings with her friends, and sharing dinner with her family and playing a game of canasta afterward. Mary enjoyed singing and was a member of the church choir at her parish, Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mary is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Alison and Gregory “Greg” Renwick of Sherrill; her sons and daughter-in-law, David and Toni Pacitto of PA, Richard Pacitto and Antoinette Waldorf, of CA, and the memory of her son, Joel, who preceded her in death, and his wife O’Celia Pacitto of Colorado. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Daniel and Kate Pacitto, Darcy and Keith Altemose, Ashley Pacitto, Dominique Pacitto, Nicholas Pacitto, Kelly Ann and Michael Battista, Katherine and Jorge Ventura, Carrie and Sergio Gutierrez, Joseph Renwick, Laura Renwick, Kyle Renwick, and James Renwick; and her great-grandchildren, Samantha, Alexandra, Mason, Matthew, and Zakkary. She also leaves her sisters and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Nicholas “Nick” Lazzaro of Frankfort, and Dolores Hubbard of Whitesboro; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and her sister-in-law Patricia Monopoli of Utica. She was predeceased by her brothers and sister-in-law, Nicholas Monopoli, and Daniel J. and Antoinette “Toni” Monopoli; and her brother-in-law, James Hubbard. Visitation will be held Monday morning from 10:00-11:00 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 714 Washington St., Utica. Mary’s Funeral Service will commence at 11:00 at the church upon conclusion of visitation, officiated by Rev. Robert Umidi. By family request, please omit floral offerings. For those wishing to do so, memorial contributions in Mary’s honor may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church; envelopes will be available at the service. Entombment will take place in Calvary Mausoleum. The family is being guided by the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. as they commemorate Mary’s life.
