Mrs. Mary T. (McCue) Eichinger

Mrs. Mary T. (McCue) Eichinger, age 95, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the Masonic Care Community of NY. Born in Staten Island, NY on September 10, 1920, Mary was the daughter of the late Leo and Theresa McCue. She was raised and educated in Brooklyn. On the 4th of July in 1944, she married Henry W. Eichinger with whom she shared nearly 50 years in a happy union devoted to each other and their family. Henry passed away on January 8, 1994. Mary’s priorities were the well-being of her family and her home. She was a good mother to her children who were honored to call her Mom. She was devoted to all those she loved, especially her grandchildren. For a time, Mary lived in New York City, relocating to Utica for a period of time, and then resided in Florida, after her husband’s passing she returned to Utica. Wherever she resided, she offered her time to a number of groups and community programs. Her favorite pastime was Bingo, and she and her husband were supporters of sporting events. They were well-versed in the game of baseball, and were the greatest fans of the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Mets. Mary was a spiritual woman with a great devotion to her Catholic faith. Mary is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, William “Bill” and Cynthia “Cindy” Eichinger of New Hartford, Robert Eichinger of Stony Brook NY, and Thomas and Cynthia Eichinger of West Babylon NY; her grandchildren, Scott Eichinger; Leah Eichinger; Christina and Sean O’Neil, Megan Eichinger, and Michelle Eichinger. She was preceded by her grandson, Keith Eichinger. She also leaves her great-granddaughter, Megan Rose; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her siblings, Jane, Ann, Thomas, and Leo; her step-siblings, Alice, Loretta, and Kay; and her longtime friends, Lila Larson, Margaret Savage, and Marie Calahann. The family is extremely grateful to the staff of the Bronx Household of the Masonic Care Community of NY who cared for Mary with grace and generosity. In keeping with Mary’s wishes there will be no public visitation. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at a later date and at the convenience of the family.
