Mary G. Caruso

Mary G. Caruso, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Siegenthaler Center with the love and support of her family. Born in Utica on August 28, 1938, Mary was the daughter of the late John B. and Concetta Caruso. Raised and educated locally, she was a graduate of T.R. Proctor High School. Mary began her career at the Oneida National Bank which became Norstar Bank, a position she held for many years. She was a communicant of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her family; her sister, Congetta “Tina” DeGironimo of Utica; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Enrico “Ricky” Caruso with whom she shared a home, Joseph and Grace Caruso of Whitesboro, and Catherine “Kay” Caruso. Her treasured family includes many nieces and nephews who she loved as her own children, Carmela Caruso, Francesca and Paul Raymond, Concetta and Darryl Rahn; Annette and Michael Tennyson, Larry and Dawn DeGironimo; John Caruso, and Dominick Caruso; her great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, and uncles; and cousins residing in Italy and Australia. Mary was blessed with many treasured friends throughout her life. She was predeceased by her brother, Carmen G. Caruso; and her brother-in-law, Lawrence DeGironimo. The family extends appreciation to the staff of the Siegenthaler Center who embraced Mary with much love and compassion and a tranquil setting. They tended to Mary’s every need, and for their acts of kindness, Ricky and his family are very grateful. Thanks also to Pastor Don from Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. and Fr. Jim Cesta from her parish, for their prayers and visits. The family honored Mary’s life at a private time. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service and Celebration of Life which will commence on Friday morning at 10:00 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel/Blessed Sacrament Parish where her Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by Fr. James Cesta. The family will receive visitors at the conclusion of Mass. Those wishing to express an act of kindness may make a donation to the Siegenthaler Center; envelopes will be available at the service. Entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum at the convenience of the family. The Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. is providing the guidance in lighting the path for the Caruso family in commemorating Mary’s life.
